Bottle. Vintage 2008. Pours a hazy ruby/brown with a small off-white/beige head. Strong aroma; dry and malty with hops trying to break through. Flavour is sweet, malty and dry with notes of dark fruits and a strange tart bitterness; almost like red wine. Sweet, bitter finish with some alcohol thrown in. Almost no carbonation. 17.03.11.

Bottle from 2008. Pours redish hazy brown with no head. Aroma is raisin, sweet malts, weak hops, oak and some alcohol. Taste add some vinous notes and has some warming alcohol. maybe a bit deprecated - Tasted like a barley wine/old ale

Bottle at home. Bottled February 2009, most hop flavors are gone, but what’s left is an amazing barley wine. Fruity sweet brew, thick bodied, beautiful color. Well balanced. Would love to taste a fresh sample next to this though, to be able to determine what the aging has done to this brew.

Cloudy/chunky brown pour with a small foamy head. Aroma of caramel malt, sweet ripe fruit and citrus hops. Flavor is sweet and malty with just a touch of hop bitterness on the finish. Good.

Bottle thx HenrikS, cons 2010-12-05, Göteborg BB Dec 2013 Bottle 134! AR: stored porto, roasted malt, a bit peppar, a bit earth tones and perhaps rotten egg reveles after beeing poured after beeing poured. AP: soapy dark brown with reddish tone colored body, wee transpareent and diminshing head F: soap, roasted malt, great long bitterness, pruns, sea salt, raisin, wonder if this one was of (sneaking a bit on the other rates) and seeams so, the alcohol level is evedent. When think about it, it’s getting more and more into shade of an old "jul must"

Pours a hazy brown with a tanned head. Smells of Amarillo. Sweet with a strong hops profile of aromas of Amarillo and grapefruits. Medium bodied. Good.

Another thanks to Gene!. Bottle pours cloudy burnt toffee with almost no head. Aroma shows notes of caramel, candied fruit, and sweet/spicy hops. Flavor shows the same with a touch of yeast and earth. Overall body is moderate, with a lightly bitter finish.

750 ml bottle shared at daknole’s tasting with the AZ crew. Murky amber color, small white head. Aroma of pine and orange peel. Taste has lots of citrus and resin, full bodied. Nice stuff.

Travlr with the hookup! Very murky brownish pour. Tons of sweet caramel, sweet citrusy hops, honey, ripe fruit. Flavor is sweet and has very light carbonation. Some honey notes, caramel, finishes lightly bitter. Sweet and pretty damn good!

Bottle. Thanks to papsoe. Pours a slightly murky dark brown. No head what so ever. Dead flat. Not the best looking beer. Huge malt backbone on the nose and some sweet honey. Not the huge hop aromas expected. Good but not as expected. Flavours are once again dominated by super sweet malt and honey. Dark fruit near the finish, some alcohol burn and just a little hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is very stickly. Absolutely dead flat. Nice beer but could have been so much better.
