Bottle, tfs Vaiz! Aroma is huge sugary caramel goodness.
Flavour is sugary malt goddness. Fruity malt, touch of spice, some liquorice. No more double IPA, but the barleywine that’s left is very nice.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Maybe it has been saved too long - but it has been kept cool and dark so hopefully it still got som attitude. Red lack sealed 33 cl bottle number 117.
No fizz when uncapped and when poured it shows that it is as good as flat. The appearence is brownish muddy with no head at all. The nose is good. It has lot of power and twisted alcohol notes but first of all a massive malty base topped with caramel and raisins and finaly lots of grains. The mouthfeel is af flat as the appearence - no co2 what so ever and as flat as water. Fortunately the taste is pretty good still. Again the alcohool profile is sticking out. Lots of bitterness that fades over in a caramelish desser-like feeling. Its a shame that its fkat because a nice fizzyness would have backed the taste up very nicely. The finish is long with a mild bitter sweetness.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12/8/9/8/12/8

Copenhagen Beer Festival. Think I heard this described as a ’Cross between a barleywine and a double IPA’. Cloudy brown beer. Smooth palate. Nicely balanced rich malt and hops with the hops just becoming dominant. Warming finish and a bitterish aftertaste.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Vintage 2008. Pours a hazy ruby/brown with a small off-white/beige head. Strong aroma; dry and malty with hops trying to break through. Flavour is sweet, malty and dry with notes of dark fruits and a strange tart bitterness; almost like red wine. Sweet, bitter finish with some alcohol thrown in. Almost no carbonation. 17.03.11.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at home. Bottled February 2009, most hop flavors are gone, but what’s left is an amazing barley wine. Fruity sweet brew, thick bodied, beautiful color. Well balanced. Would love to taste a fresh sample next to this though, to be able to determine what the aging has done to this brew.

AR: stored porto, roasted malt, a bit peppar, a bit earth tones and perhaps rotten egg reveles after beeing poured
after beeing poured.
AP: soapy dark brown with reddish tone colored body, wee transpareent and diminshing head
F: soap, roasted malt, great long bitterness, pruns, sea salt, raisin, wonder if this one was of (sneaking a bit on the other rates) and seeams so, the alcohol level is evedent. When think about it, it’s getting more and more into shade of an old "jul must"
