Dissapointing on the appearance. Very good dry hops. Lemony dry aftertaste. A little sour element among the amarrilo hops. Just a solid IPA. Caramel malt and citrus hops. Alcohol not over top but don’t down this baby. Menno, a pleasure! Love this.

Bottle, courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Poured a hazy orange/brown with a medium sized, soapy beige head. Nose is caramel, plum or fig and earthy citric hops. Mostly full body with a smooth mouth feel. Flavor starts with big caramel malt notes leading into some more bitter notes of pine resin and grassy citrus. Finishes bittersweet.

12oz bottle sent my way by George. What a nifty little extra. Nose is big piney and resiny hops with some modest passionfruit. Big malty backbone with tons of caramel sweetness balanced by big fruit and pine notes with a decently bitter finish. Not my favorite style but this was very very good. One of the best euro DIPA’s I’ve had, if not the best.

Bottle… Murky burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The bouquet is a bit reserved, but I’m finally able to discover some very pleasant fruit and caramel notes veiled within. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and laid-back carbonation. The malts dominate as the flavor releases bittersweet caramel and toffee. Finishes mostly sweet and leaves my tongue numb (Novocain-like). Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!

CBF 2009. Amarillo nose. Cloudy brown, low head. Grapefruit start. Grass pine citrus earth. Fresh not cloying in hop oils.

Bottled, thanks Timo A! Dark reddish reddish. Very sweet with soapy-lemony hops, toffee, raisins. Thick toffeish flavor with soapy-lemony hops, biscuity and nutty maltiness, dark fruits and firm bitterness. I like the raisiny barley wine character but the hop profile is too soapy.

Bottle. The aroma is malty, light sour, a soft touch of citrus. The head is large, beige and creamy-foamy, slow disappearing. The body is black. The taste is medical-bitter, strong taste of hops, some citrus. The body is creamy and light oily, heavy and without much carbonation

Superb Beer. Looks excellent in the glass deep red with a touch of haze, tan sticky looking head., huge aroma of spice, wild strawberries, toffee, caramel, treacle, liquorice, hops, orange - it just go’s on an on. Palate is instantly mouth coating with big hops up first, tonnes of dried fruit, apricot, more treacle, some mineral earthy motes, all the aromas follow through on to the palate except the strawbs perhaps. Lots of spicy chunky malt with a lovely warmth from the booze within, but not at all over powering abv-wise. Finish is long with lots of marmaladey treacle and some very well played hops making for great balance between bitter and sweet. Just a fantastic beer, and after having it at least 5 or more times I can safely say one of my all time favourites. De Molen are indeed, Righteous!
