Bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who brought it from the Netherlands (thanks a lot!)
Poured a black body with an ochre head. The nose isn’t too prominent and first. Bready, dark malts, some hop and yeah, coffee. The taste starts with a strong burst of chicory... like the thick and tarry chicory based coffee replacement before you dilute it with milk. Some dark fruits show up then, along with some figs, some alcohol too of course. Some chocolate though. The hop is completely covered up by the other stuff, showing just enough to make its presence known if you concentrate. Didn’t think it was the most complex IS that I’ve had, but it’s very, very nice.

On tap at the European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. A black beer with a small tan head. Balanced nose with coffee, chocolate, burnt malt and some licorice. Well, balanced might not be the right word, smooth maybe? The same goes for the flavor, it’s really delicious and elegant, with chocolate and coffee dominating. Some notes of licorice too. Full-bodied with a long, sweet and ‘dark’ finish. A true beauty. (080912)

750 ml bottle shared at WeeHeavySD’s 2000th rate tasting thanks to toncatcher. Pretty dark with a decent head. Roasted malts and some dark chocolate in the aromas. Flavors were similar with a more bitter flavor and a rather hoppy character. Pretty darn good.

750mL bottle, courtesy of toncatcher. Thanks, Dennis! Pours a dense, murky, dark chocolate-brown color; light-tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Loads of dark bitter chocolate, dense roasted and chocolate malts in the aroma; nicely toasty. Lively carbonation. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: tons of chewy dark chocoalte, roasted / burnt malts, and oily coffee and chocolate throughout; intense, bitter, chewy chocolate core; solid impy stout. Lengthy finish: bitter coffee, chocolate, and roasted malts.

Bottle form toncatcher shared at my 2000th rating tasting with Kmweaver and his wife, my girlfriend Cyn, dalekliz, fordest, toncatcher, and wetherel. Pours black with a light brown head. Nose is sweet and smokey and quite rich. Super big smokey potent nose. Rich sweet malty chocolate taste with big smoked malt.

Draught. Pitch black colour. Sweet dark fruity very roasty chocolate aroma. Great mouthfeel. The flavour has a very pleasant roasted maltiness with raisons, chocolate, some spice, coffee and some liquorice. Yum!
