Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks DSG. Pours opaque black with a beige head, aroma of toffee, glue, red wine, wood, caramel, honey, vanilla, some coffee and wax, flavor is sweet with some wood, toffee, red wine, plum juice, full bodied, great one

Bottle smuggled from Netherlands as a gift care of Kermis shared with Jeano. Pours sinful black with small head that didn’t hang around for too long. Notes of bakers chocolate, rich barrel, caramel, tons of licorice and an impressive malt/hop bill. Has some nice bitterness mixed into the decadent roasty dark notes. Long lasting and warming in the chest. Cheech ahh

Bottle (330 ml). #635. Shared by JulienHuxley, thanks! Pitch black with a medium beige head and heavy lacing. Aroma is of fudge along with vanilla, roasted malt, toffee, light fruity notes, whisky, light smoke and hints of alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet and again quite fudge forward along vanilla, whisky, roasted malt, toffee, light fruits (less than aroma) with a touch of smoke and a light warming finish. Full body. Moderate carbonation. Velvety mouthfeel. Very complex and quite enjoyable. One of my favorite from the Hel & Verdoemenis series. Balance is pretty good and alcohol is well hidden for 13% abv. Delicious.

Bottle at home. Black pour, tan head. Aroma is roasty, some wet cigar, old yellowish newspaper, vanilla, leather, a hint of cognac, chocolate, caramel, some bready yeast and tobacco. Flavor is smooth syrupy roasted goodness, very full bodied, slightly sweet chocolate and quite bitter roastedness with a spicy tobacco like finish. Awesome balance and hugy body. A brew to sip. Lovely.

Clear black colour, red hue, firm tan head. Aroma of whisky, bourbon, vanilla, wood, mocha coffee, light chocolate. Light woody flavour, dark chocolate, liquorice, bourbon-like whisky. Thick creamy body, finish bourbon, wood, alcohol, chocolate, hint of tar. Very smooth and balanced, yet still quite bold flavours. Definitely a beer that’s defending the De Molen grandeur in style.
(From 33cL bottle @ home. Bottle 0202. Thanks for the bottle, SecretSinterklaas, aka biersint)

Bottle. Black beer with a not lasting tanned head. Dried dark fruits, vanilla, dark chocolate, licorice aroma with some alcohol hints. simliar flavour, maybe a bit too much alcohol flavour. This one needs to mature for a few years to peak.

33cl bottle. Pours totally dark with no head at all. Only some big bubbles spread in the glass. Aroma is huge: lots of roasted notes, coffee, licorice, oak and dried fruits. Alocholic warm too. Taste is similar: very malty in the beginning, turning to a soft bitterness and ending with a soft warm sensation of alcohol and oak. Palate is silk, full bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, very tasty brew
