TET (1099) - FINLAND - APR 12, 2013
Bottled Nov. 2012, the number of the beast is 1059. A black beer with a beautiful, almost medium and brown head. Aroma is powerfull, black coffee, liquirice, some chocolate, hitn of strenght of alcohol and salt liquirice. Taste is also powerfull and greatly balanced, liquirice, sweetness, roastiness and coffee. After the beginning a salt liquirice is more dominating with bitterness, that dries a mouth. A aftertaste is long, salt liquirice and some herbs, hint of cognac and wood, also warming alcohol in the background. Full bodied, smooth, some lighting carbonation, nice to drink. A complex and powerfull beer with the great balance.

reebtogi (3267) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 11, 2013
330ml bottle pours black in color with a small off-white head that settles to reveal some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark fruits (raisins?)and cognac. Taste is a dark fruity sweetness with cognac and alcohol burn and some light roasted bitterness. Medium to heavy body with modest carbonation. Overall, a very interesting stout that is quite sweet with very little roasted grain bitterness.

Draft at Torst. Pours near black with a beige head. Rich and warming, with medium roasted malts, cherry-like dark fruity notes, and dark chocolate fudgey notes. Delicious.

jredmond (4023) - Manhattan, New York, USA - MAR 15, 2013
Draft at Torst with Linh and max. Pours a deep black body with thin thick creamy brown lacing. Aroma is super sweet chocolate and cognac. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of rich, luscious chocolate dominating most of the palate; subsidiary notes of oak, cognac, light sweet roast and toasted malts. Great.

Wow dominant cognac note in the nose and on the palate. The aroma is choclatey with cognac and raisin. On the palate the dark fruits come through but they're dominated by cognac. For a one notes beer this is awesome. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at BrewDog Leeds (dry run night). Aroma is coffee, chocolate, vanilla with cognac, rum soaked raisins. A little bit of cranachan too. Taste is utterly fucking stunning. Vanilla on the way in, with coffee and chocolate, vanilla, whisky, cognac, oak, a little milk and almost some hoppy piney-ness. Co2 prickle, long, beautiful aftertaste that lasts about a fortnight after the drink. Can’t recall such an intense aftertaste in a beer before. All the best bits of one of my favourite beers, with beautiful complexity and cognac. Stunning, stunning, stunning.

The bastard love child of Vegemite and cocoa, this astounds from first sniff to reassuring warm chocolate infused gulp. The aroma is of a yeast invasion of a belgian chocolate factory, and the taste is simply the Biltzkreig of an aftermath as it assimilates your palate and moves up to make a pinser movement on your neo-cortex, diminishing all sense of responsibility for blithe, pithy and salient comments.
