18 cc bottle. Pours dark with almost no head. Aroma is great with notes of licorice, coffee, dark chocolate and oak. Taste is similar to the aroma, in my opinion a little too much alcoholic. Palate is great and the carbonation is very low.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2011 Black with a small tan head. Malt, licorice and dark chocolate aroma with fruit, oak and whisky notes and a touch of vineous alcohol. Sweet and malty flavour with intense licorice and coffee, a hint of ash, and a fruity tartness.

Draught at Copenhagen Beer festival 2010. Vanilla, coffe and chcolate. Rather light compared to other H&V and the expectations the name gives...

Black as hell with a low brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. The flavour is very balanced ranging from medium sweet to a light bitter ending that lasts a long time. Full-bodied with an oily texture and soft carbonation.

Bottled. & On tap @ CHBF 2010. The aroma has chocolate, liquorice, roast, some dried fruits. Hazy, dark brown-black coloured beer with a medium, beige head. The taste is bitter, has sweetness, choclate, chocolate bitterness, moccha, some laurel /liquorice, bourbon, some berries and raisins there. Very full and complex. Alcohol warming finish. Adorable.

On tap. Dark brown with a tanned head. Aroma is of roasted malts, smooth coffee, fudge and a lot of vinous fruits. Flavor is sweet and malty with a noticeable character of liqueur-like fruity booziness. Notes of coffee and dried fruits. Ends warming with some nice rich notes of malts and brandy. Medium body, smooth texture. A nice one. But perhaps not better than the original.

75cl Bottle from De Bierkoning to celebrate my 31st birthday. Pitch black colour, creamy beige head. Aroma of superb roasted malts, coffee, plain chocolate and a little booze, tar. Flavour is hard roasted malts, chocolate, tar, sweet choc mousse, booze, some liquorice, bitter roasted and hoppy finish. Fullbodied, thick oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Excellent stuff, just a bit more boozy than the regular version, but also more roasted flavours which I like a lot. Superb.
