On tap. Licorice both on tasting and smelling, light carbonation and black colour. Not my favourite but it has a great aroma. Great beer.

Bottle enjoyed at home. Clear dark brown pour with no head. Aroma Has coffee, sweet chocolate and a little red wine. Flavour has the expected coffee and chocolate but with a little wine fruitiness. Soft oily mouthfeel and some alcohol in the finish. Another great BA Molen, though not the best.

Bought at De Molen - dark brown nip bottle, little carbonation. Lots of coffee on the nose, some dark fruits. Rich chocolate flavors, oily and alcoholic. Not as much wine in the body as I would have thought. Has a sugary sweetness with a dry finish and a roasted coffee aftertaste. Like this effort, but not as good as the Wild Turkey or Misto varieties.

Bottle thanks to bierkoning. Poured near black with a red tint and small beige head. Aroma was fudge, sherry, dark fruit, and cherry. Flavor was pretty much the same with a medium body and low carbonation.

Color is opaque black with no head. Smell is coffee, roasty, a little burned and quite alcoholic. Taste is light coffee, light liquorice, a little wine-ish. Low carbonation. Alcohol well hidden in the taste and palate, though you feel it in the back of your throat. Firm body. Nice long lingering aftertaste which is lightly bitter, lightly coffee. Drink slow and enjoy!

Big thanks to Kan for hauling this back for me! Poured black with no head whatsoever. Aroma is full of roasted malts with dark grains and chocolate and just a hint of red wine. Flavor starts with a bit of red wine but quickly becomes full of roasted malts with some dark grains and a bit of chocolate. A bit thin on the tongue, but at the same time didn’t show any booze.

18cl, as Hel & Verdoemenis ’Bordeaux B.A.’, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2010, thx to Jeppe!, complex Stout, roasted and slightly fruity, yet not too heavy, balanced, hazy, nearly no head, very good brew, yet very expensive!

Bottled. Quite much pitch black colour, not much head. Aroma is strong coffee, alcohol and some mild nutty and chocolaty notes. Flavour is coffee, some spices, mild liquorice, ashes and smoked wet wood. Wellbalanced. A bit thin in the palate.

Thanks bierkoning! Thanks bierkoning! Dark opaque brown color, not much head. Roasted, sweet chocolate and malty nose, also hints of caramel and coffee. Full-bodied., smooth palate Licorice, dark malts, coffee, wood, alcohol. Not much Bordeaux, more like sherry. You can’t mess such a good beer like H&V with barrel :)

Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Fluffy light brown head. Chocolate, roast, coffee wood, cocoa, spice and some vanilla in this beer. Flavour a bit more distinct than the aroma. Medium to full bodied. Ends on a sweet and light roasted note. I’m not that fond about this beer compared to the wild turkey edition and the plain edition.
