UPDATED: OCT 1, 2013 Mooie zwarte kleur met weinig schuimkraag. Volle geur van koffie en chocolade. Goede volle peated smaak en een koffie tint. Iets alcohol nasmaak.

I think my favo @ borefts. Pours a beautiful black beer with a good tan head. Smells a bit glue’ ish, coffee and roast. tastes heavy coffee and choco. Roasty. Thick body, sticky texture and low carbo.

Countbeer (4539) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - FEB 1, 2014
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Small brown foamy head on top of a black colored beer. Aromas of iodine, ash, peat, roast, coffee, wood roast/campfire coal, smoke, tar, liquorice and vinously burned wood. Flavours of of chocate, coffee, earth, spices, iodine, bitters, wood, smoke, peat, spicy, , wood roast, some light liquorice tints, sweet wood, sweet tar, coal, oak roast, light vinous, dark roasted fruit, some pepper, smoke and bandage. Aftertaste is bitter, spices, coffee, iodine, some chocolate, some wood and some coal. Low carbo, silky mouthfeel, full body and a creamy oily texture. Another great barrel used for the flagship beer of de Molen and it turned out really good! Complex and very good!

7/VII/14 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) leftover saved from RBBSG III with cap and in the fridge, since I couldn’t keep up with the tick fest @ home - BB: n/a, bottled: 16/IX/13 (2014-785) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige small head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of whisky, alcohol, peated, caramel, sweet, bit sugary. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: sweet malty start, caramel, pretty peated, roasted, lots of coffee, bit burnt. Aftertaste: little bitter, dark chocolate, peated, some sweet mocha.

Stark malziger Antrunk mit unverkennbaren Whiskeynoten. Passend trockene Malzigkeit, sich röstig, vollmundig. Im Verlauf bleibt das Bier süffig und vollmundig, süffig getreidig, holzig, minimal karamellig. Klassisches Bier der Paradedisziplin von De Molen. 10/13/11/13//13

Draft at Borefts 2013. Pours pitch black with a small tanned head. Aroma is a bit sweet with some whisky, peat and chocolate. Taste has roasted malts, peated, some coffee. Medium to full bodied. Quite nice.

Black beer, almost no foam. Low carbonation. Oily and thick. Very complex aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and peat. Very nice peated. Well balanced.

Vaiz (3393) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAR 1, 2014
Bottle at home. Pitch black pour, thin tan head. Aroma is roasted, vanilla, peat, leather, slightly burnt malts, licorice, tar and loads of whisky. Flavor is very bitter, burnt and roasted, but still remarkably smooth. Thick body, very low carbonation and quite silky. Great brew.

Very dark mahogany near black pour no head mild carbonation aromas dark fruit and chocolate peat not too strong good malt whiskey note caramel roast note the flavours vanilla peat smooth whiskey taste lovely barrelling notes medium bitter roast coffee raisins caramel dark chocolate liquorice good balance crisp hop touch rich imperial the finish classy flavours rich whiskey lovely note good balanced tastes sweetness is superb fruit and bitter excellent flavours really click together

On tap at BBF ’13. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of full-on peat, sweet peated whisky, earth, roasted malts. Flavour is ashy, sweet peated whisky, earth, hard roasted malts, some berry tartness, firm bitter roasted finish with some peaty sweetness. Medium to full-bodied.’Very nice.
