Shared 330ml bottle on the 23rd Aug 2014, cheers Mat, pity we had to split this into 6 portions! Lovely dark pour, with a creamy tanned crown on top. The nose is oak, dark chocolate and Port like esters. The taste was very similar to the aroma in flavour, a little sweeter maybe with some caramel notes arriving later in the sip. Very good and an interesting blend of goodies.

Bottle at Midlands Tasting Group; clear dark brown pour with a frothy magnolia head, slight funk on the aroma along with coffee and some earthy action, taste has slight bourbon, wood, dark roasted malts, coffee and a hint of vanilla.

33cl bottle. Pours dark brown almost black with a big brown head. Excelent and complex aroma with notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice and a subtile touch of bourbon and alchool. Flavor, as expected is also excelent dominated by wood, bourbon, chocolate, dark fruits and dark malt. Full bodied, thick. Excelent warm finish.

Barwa: ciemna, z rubinowymi refleksami, dosyć gęsta i oleista konsystencja.

Pours a dark brown with a thin beige head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of roasted nuts, coffee, oak and alcohol. Some chocolate too, really nice. Taste is of strong oak, caramel, vanilla, roasted malt and light raisins. Body is full, carbonation low to medium and mouthfeel silky smooth. Alcohol is a little hot but not disturbing. One of my favorite H&V so far!

33 cl.

Bottle. Black with a medium sized good lasting light brown head. Cocoa, dark chocolate, warming alcohol, brown sugar, light ash, light bourbon notes, oak. Full body, oily/soft texture, medium carbonation, near heavy sweet and bitter. Long finish with barrel notes and a little alcohol. Tommy likey, Tommy want wingy.

11.2 oz bottle, thanks to Charles!!! Deep, decently viscous jet black pour, small rim of bubbles as a head. Nose and flavor are unique and interesting, with definite tannic sweetness mixed with dry roasted espresso beans, port, vanilla, hints of Fernet, chocolate ganache. Rich, but not quite as deep and profound as most of this series. Very tasty, but doesn’t hold a candle to Misto B.A. and a couple of the other variants.

Bottle at Casper is back tasting. Black beer lasting beige head. Some spirit aroma. Lovely impy stout flavour. A little hot. Decent though. Touch of hot ginger. Decent some choc sponge.
