Deep black colour with a chocolate brown foamy head. Smells strongly of burnt coffee, softened with chocolate, caramel and a spicy tinge. The taste is very soft considering the bitter coffee, chocolate, caramel, wood smoke and spices that all erupt in your mouth, leaving a sharp, bitter chocolate and spiced aftertaste. It’s in my Top 10.

Aroma: Chocolate, coffee, roastiness, some hoppy sweet notes. Appearance: Black, head low, dense, not very durable. Taste: Coffee, roastiness, some chocolate, hoppy notes, alcohol warming. Palate: finish is coffee and alcohol, body is full, carbonation is low. Thought it will be mindblowing. It wasnt. Just a standard nice RIS.

The Dutch might not be able to make a good IPA, but De Molen has proven they can make an excellent imperial stout! Under a thick reddish head is a balanced and rich taste profile, including ripe dark berries, milk chocolate, mid-range coffee and earthy malts. Clean and non-acidic. Very well made IS.

Black with tan head. Cocoa, leather and syrup. Slick, sweet, fruity, espresso and spicy alcohol finish. Overall: Very slick. Good carbonation level.

WYGLĄD: Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzyste. Piana drobna, wysoka, trwała. Nieśmiało oblepia szkło.
AROMAT: Intensywny. Dominują: czekolada (praliny) oraz kawa. W tle nuty beczkowe, orzechy, karmel, alkohol.
SMAK: Z początku subtelnie słodowe (czekolada), by po chwili dochodzi alkohol, kawa oraz paloność. Doskonale zbalansowane. Przyjemnie rozgrzewa przełyk.
OGÓLNIE: Obawiałem się, że tylko data przydatności do spożycia mnie zaskoczy, ale na szczęście nie tylko ona. Bardzo dobry RIS.

Aroma: Slight roasted malt, licorice, dark chocolate. Could have been more intense. Appearance: Pitch black beer with no head at all, even when poured vertically. Taste/Palate: Sweet and slightly bitter, syrupy licorice, chocolate, coffee. Smooth as fuck, amazing mouth feel.

Aromat: intensywna czekolada, kawa, truskawki w likierze, paloność. Wygląd: barwa czarna, piana obfita, beżowa, drobno pęcherzykowa. Smak: spora słodycz w postaci likierowych czekoladek z nadzieniem truskawkowym, w tle paloność, goryczka średnia, alkohol delikatnie grzeje. Tekstura: gęste i treściwe, wyscyenie niskie. Ogólne wraznie: piwo pyszne, aromat intensywny, a w smaku świetnie zbalansowana słodycz z goryczką, perfekcyjna tekstura, alkohol delikatnie wyczuwlany.

Wonderful roasty, creamy, oaky, coffee-like cocoa aroma. Slightly boozy. Shiny black color with a virtually nonexistent light tan head. Flavor of dark fruit, oak, coffee, roast, some hops and dark chocolate. Similar to a Quad, but more roasty and hoppy. The roast is not overpowering on this big Imperial Stout, it tastes more creamy. The palate should be more substantial. It is slick and the carbonation is low, but I was wanting something thicker. This was a great Imperial Stout. Subdued where it needs to be, powerful where it needs to be. Very well done. I would drink this again. Just looked at the back of the bottle and saw that this one is over 2 years old. That shows how well this beer ages; now I have to try one fresh.
