4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Black color, small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel, peat, dark fruits, wood, licorice. Taste has roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice, vanilla, hops, dark fruits - it is nicely balanced and equally dry, sweet and bitter. Full body and soft carbonation, alcohol is very well hidden. Complex and very delicious beer.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2013 (tap) clear very dark brown colour with a small brown head; aromas of roast, coffee, stewed fruit; rich and intense flavour with a long medium dry finish; more dry than most imperial stouts I had but still very good

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Small format bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a thick black with a khaki colored head of foam that dissipates quickly. The aroma is very earthy and rich dark chocolate. Roasty and bitter. The taste is very aggressive, and actually reminds me a lot of a dark tobacco from a cigar. Thick mouthfeel.

3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma of chocolate, coffee, sarsaparilla, molasses. A medieval apothecary. The ideal imperial stout smell. Dark brown, plenty of carbonation. Possibly too bitter, with a sour kick and a sour/bitter aftertaste. Wait for the chocolate aftertaste. Wonderful flavours but slightly unbalanced. Good beer but not my favourite imperial stout.

Bottle. Black with a 1 finger tan head. Aroma is dominated by chocolate. Taste also has lots of chocolate but adds tons of roasted malt and just a hint of bourbon barrel. Slight alcoholic burn. Medium silky mouthfeel and a little carb. This is delicious.

UPDATED: SEP 28, 2013 on tap @ALEhouse, Riga
Pours black, reddish with thin layer of foam, Weird, but seems too monolitic, sweet malty with notes of coffee and roast in flavor. Mild flavor, no sharp, there is no trace of alcohol, nice balanced with no "rocky edges", but nothing to remember also. Decent Imperial Stout.
