Bottle from Saveur Bière. Cross-testing 2009 vintage with 2015 version. Low creamy, beige head, black body. Aroma of the 2015 is more distinct, coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla. 2009 version is leaner, more chocolate and vanilla. 2015 tastes of chocolate, roasted coffee beans, vanilla, spicy and hoppy. Mostly bitter and salt. 2009 has lost a lot of its carbonation. It’s also sweeter in it’s taste and has more chocolate and vanilla. In conclusion it’s a great beer which I think is probably is at its best after 1-3 years.

10% ABV. Imperial Stout. No head. Poured out of the bottle like liquid sin. 40ºSRM. Nose is burnt sugar, stewed fruit, caramel. Mouthfeel is surprisingly light. Carbonation is pronounced, but you will barely notice it because of the syrupy body of the brew. There is no malt sweetness, but there is that carbohydrate heft to it. A very good body on which to appreciate flavors of tobacco, dark toast and coffee. Good bitter finish reminiscent of the time when I tried a small piece of bamboo charcoal. No cloying sweetness at all. Goo job, De Molen, I don’t like everything you do, but I do like this. Goes on favorites list.

Bottle. Dark brown colour. Aroma brutal roasted, coffee, cocoa, caramel, some fruity tones - plums. Taste roasted, a bit burnt. Caramel. First taste is sweet, then roastiness.Bitter, roasty, burnt aftertaste, which, for me was a bit adstringent. Overall good.

Black and viscous with a dark brown head. Strong coffee aroma followed by a sweet taste of coffee and chocolate with caramel notes and a very slight bitternes. Long sweet aftertaste. Amazing beer that kicks in at 10%.

Aroma of coffee and some cocoa. Pours pitch black with tan head. Taste is dominated by coffee, bit sour and ashy, body is surprisingly low making this one very drinkable. You can finish the bottle in 10 minutes. Overall easy drinking Imperial Stout.

Bottle, 2013 vintage at Burspraks Blind Imperial Stout Tasting! Pours a flat black, almost no head, and a transparent hue. Aroma has slight smoke, cigar, licorice, roasted malts, tobacco, oldschool european style imperial stout. Some salmiak. Taste is very bitter. Slight smoke, some hops, pretty metallic. Some saltyness. Low carbonation and a full body. Surprised that this wasn’t better!

Botlte @ Burspraks Blindtasting. Pours pitch black with a medium brown head. Aromas of peat, tobacco, dark chocolate, burned sugar, toast. Taste is light peat, roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate, burned sugar. This was weird...

Received in a trade from Dresden many moons ago. Bottle poured into a snifter -- A black\brown oily pour. Aroma is sweet booze. Flavor of a super smooth sweet slick and savory. This beer drinks way easier than a 10%. Very well done.
