Imperially stouty beer. The pefrect example of this beer type. I would prefer this a bit less bitter but the dark bitter chocolate makes aleays the taste come through everyone s tongue. ..

33cl bottle. Absolutely black, thin beige head, some lacing. Sweet smell, light roastiness, plums, red berries. Taste start with a thick milky sweetness followed by a lot of roasted malts, coffe, bitter chocolate fading into some light acidity. Thick creamy finish, very long ground coffe aftertaste, very light final burnt bitterness. Excellent.

Feb 2012 bottle from trade with Rightcross55. Thanks! Pours deep black with almost no head, just a tiny ring collects on the edge. Awesome aroma of rich, chocolate cake, raisins, caramel, toffee, and light coffee beans. Tastes slightly sweet up front with chocolate syrup, caramel, and soy sauce. Finish brings in tart raisins and light bitter coffee. Medium body but absolutely no carbonation. Overall, great aroma and taste but this could really use some carb.

Black pout with a huge double finger espresso head. Lots of lace. Raisin aroma and a little sugar. Mouth is on the lighter side of what I like from RIS. Bitter finish with a lot of sweetness at first. Long bitter end with tons of roast.

Bottle. Dark brown pour, big beige head. Creamy chocolate aroma. Thick, flat palate, very smooth. Cocoa, coffee and subtle dark fruits. Fairly sweet and huge flavour. Wow.

Flaska från beernavigator. Kolsvart, lågt beige skum. Fantastisk doft av mäktig chokladdessert, fudge och kaffe. Söt, stor kraftig, småbubblig munkänsla men stora smaker. Stor mäktig kropp med massor av mörk malt och en hel del alkoholvärme. Lätt men tydlig beska. Perfekt dessertöl. Fantastiskt.

Pours pitch black with a tiny head. Aroma: a lot of roastiness, coffee, rosins and some liquor aroma. Taste: similar to aroma - roastiness, coffee, rosins and a very pleasant liquorish finish, warming the throat. This is a big beer. I drank it pretty fresh (7 months after bottling). Given the fact it can mature for 25 years (that’s what the info on the bottle says) I expect it to become more complex and thereofore even greater over time. Nevertheless, I probably wouldn’t wait for two and half decades. A few years should be enough to get the most out of it.

Huge, brown foam, coal black color. Aromas are defined by fresh roasted coffee beans and burned malts, with hints of bitter chocolate, almost espresso-like, with biting alcohol. Begins sugary sweet, with toffee and bready malts. Then an intense bitterness rises up from the back of the palate, which contains a huge load of coffee and espresso beans. Sweeter flavors are still noteable on the palate, but only support the bitterness in a moderate and complex fashion. The Finish adds a warm, stinging alcohol note to the full coffee body, with a soft, smooth, almost oily, bitter finish. Carbonation gets recognizable in the end, as it is very lively, still fitting, adding a subtle copper hint to the dry, coffeeish tobacco character of this beer.
