Wonderful roasty, creamy, oaky, coffee-like cocoa aroma. Slightly boozy. Shiny black color with a virtually nonexistent light tan head. Flavor of dark fruit, oak, coffee, roast, some hops and dark chocolate. Similar to a Quad, but more roasty and hoppy. The roast is not overpowering on this big Imperial Stout, it tastes more creamy. The palate should be more substantial. It is slick and the carbonation is low, but I was wanting something thicker. This was a great Imperial Stout. Subdued where it needs to be, powerful where it needs to be. Very well done. I would drink this again. Just looked at the back of the bottle and saw that this one is over 2 years old. That shows how well this beer ages; now I have to try one fresh.

Bottle 33cl. Deep black colour, little syruppy, small beige head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and alcohol. The taste is bittersweet at first. When the beer is longer in the mouth a dark chocolate flavour develops which turns into a very pleasant bitterness combined with a warm glow of alcohol that stays in the mouth and throat for a long time.

Pours black opaque with tiny unstable brown head, which immidiately transforms to a ring around the glass. Aroma with mild detectable alcohol, sweet notes of chocolate, vanilla, coffee, hints of tobacco, candy. Flavors: alcohol note is obvious, like bourbon, but perfectly balanced with sweet malts. There are also chocolate, mocha coffee, vanilla like flavors, with herbal, floral tones of hops. Malt sweetness is medium to high, hop bitterness is high. Finish is long lasting bitter dry. Body is sticky, carbonation is low. This one was bottled on 3th of october, 2014 and for may opoint of view, it was perfect balanced.

33cl bottle. Black with no head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, licorice. Medium to low sweetness, dry and moderate to heavy bitter. Flat carbonation, full bodied, oily and sticky. Overall the aroma are simplistic and the oily and no carbonated mouthfeel is very disappoiting. From the other comments the quality may be highly variable from bottle to bottle, so I might just have been unlucky. Although I got it at a fair price, it is probably not worth another try.

This imperial stout has a smell of Soya Sauce and coffee. Beautiful dark molasse color! The taste explodes in the mouth leaving the roasted taste of coffee with a beautiful final of sugar bitterness. Enjoy with care!

Bottle from Beer Hawk. Jet black colour. Thick brownish foam. Very nicely made Imperial Stout, lots of deep roasty bitter malts and the hop bill seems to blend nicely with the malts and balance the flavours well. Strong but not overly boozy. Very good.

2013 bottle. Dark chocolate and marshmallows on the nose, great start. Amazing that this silky smooth beer is 10abv. Straight up bomb Imperial stout. Warming, bitter coffee, sweet dark malts, toffee, caramel. Would love to try the barrel aged editions, but this is brilliant as is. Long coffee nibs and chocolate malty palate. Fantastic beer.

330cc bottle. Pours black with tanned very thin head. Vinous, smoky, expresso coffee, dark bitter coffee, plums, cocoa, vanilla, oak and tawny port. Great beer, just found it to be a bit too low carbonated.
