How can someone rate this beer? Besides the words amazing and perfect, there is nothing else that can be said. Drunk it from a 33ml bottle (the 75ml one, was kept for aging. The chocolate aromas and taste were amazing, while the after taste brings some coffee-ishness up. I loved it. Next time, i will drink it while eating a piece of chocolate cake.

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2016 Re-rate September 20th 2014 to replace an old amateur rating. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized decently lasting dark brown head. Aroma is malts, dark and roasted malts, dark chocolate, mocha, coffee, a slight hint of liquorice. Taste malts, dark and roasted malts, dark chocolate, strong roast, coffee, again lightly liquorice, roasty bitter. Oily texture, full body, medium carbonation. Absolutely delicious! -- I’m upgrading this beer once more. It is my go to stout and it never diappoints. Rich, oily, full bodied, full of flavor. Simply amazing every time. Up from 8-5-8-5-17 (4.3) to 4.5.

Big thanks to baker for this want! Pours thick oily black out of the bottle, nice creamy tan head. Aroma literally made me step back and say "whoa," huge aroma of bitter dark chocolate, raisin and dark fruit, coffee, lots of toffee and caramel notes with a touch of lactose. Full and awesome. Taste is not like the aroma, but in a good way. The bitterness attacks at the end in a good way, you get a ton more of the dark fruit, roast, and coffee to balance the chocolate. Very impressively creamy, carbed well to push it through the palate, overall an excellently crafted brew.

2010 Vintage 75 cl. bottle@Kulminator – shared – bottle nr. 398/468: black with small not-lasting mocha head, smell is roasted malt, creamy coffee, slightest hint of hops & alcohol, taste is very big & upfront it is slightly bitter coffee, pitch-black malt, burned cocoa, charcoal, black chocolate, aftertaste is strong almost bourbon-like alcohol, very distinct & present & very not-beer-like but enjoyable, bottom of the glass was filled with indefinable chunks of something, weird

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2012 Brought this beer with me to a tasking. About half of the people hated it and half of the people loved it. There?s no middle way with this one. I was one of the people who loved it. Really dark, very bitter. Roasty.

330ml bottle. Dark brown body with a medium light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, alcohol, caramel, bitterness. Flavor is sweet toffee, alcohol, roasted malt, bitter coffee, vanilla. The alcohol tickles the tonque. Very drinkable.

Bottle at De Paas. Pours very dark brown with tan head that doesn’t last. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and sweet caramel with some alcohol. Flavor has same aspects with dark fruits, raisins and liqurice. Excellent beer, beaten by some of the BA versions

Opaque black beer with a short lived chocolate coloured head. Soft palate. Very light for the style. Frothy and creamy. Soft dark malt. Subtle undertone of red fruit, cherry and a little plum. Light coffee and toasted malt notes. Traces of banana and bubblegum in the finish. All very well joined up in to a light Imperial Stout.

11/11/11/12//11
