3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 30, 2008 Draught Black, no head but a brown rim. Bit of sulphur, "putteke", and very dry tobacco ash. Also lots of ureum warming up. Dry stout, still some sweetness, alcohol. A strange sweet-malt flavour, no doubt the brown malt. Nearly carbon dust MF, despite a bit of restsugars. Nice!;; Ideal combinations of dry and restsugars, resulting in an unusual, but succeeded balance.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Draught) Very dark brown with almost no head. Quite mild aroma of licorice, roasted malt. Strongly malty, quite licoricey flavor with medium bitterness. Quite full-bodied, no carbonation. A thick and syrupy Imperial Stout, but still not too sweet. This brewery seems to be unable to brew crap.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who brought it from the Netherlands (thanks a lot!)
Poured a black body with an ochre head. The nose isn’t too prominent and first. Bready, dark malts, some hop and yeah, coffee. The taste starts with a strong burst of chicory... like the thick and tarry chicory based coffee replacement before you dilute it with milk. Some dark fruits show up then, along with some figs, some alcohol too of course. Some chocolate though. The hop is completely covered up by the other stuff, showing just enough to make its presence known if you concentrate. Didn’t think it was the most complex IS that I’ve had, but it’s very, very nice.

Chris_o’s GBBF Shindig August 08. Big coffee. Thick and heavy. Inviting and seductive. Sweet and rather gorgeous. Mmmm. Luscious and obscene. The sort of beer that sticks its finger up your arse.
