Oily black pour with a 1 finger, soapy tan head that has great retention and leaves some lacing, the liquid itself leaves nice syrupy film as I sip and around the lacing, looks even thicker than it is. Upon initial pour the aroma is extremely heavy dark fruit and char this fades after a minute or so, those components are still there, just not so strongly. Tons of nutty and chocolate notes after that, dark roast coffee, earthy leaves, leather and smoke. Flavor starts off delicously chocolatey, nutty and has a nice caramel and malty sweetness, roast, smoke, char, campfire woodiness, light licorice, nice earthy spice, a little leather, dark fruit and sort of sweet floral and citrus notes to the finish. Heavy body with a creamy, slick entry, light carbonation and off dry still creamy finish. Very nice, well rounded, pleasantly sweet Imperial Stout.

Bottle @ De Tolly Joogipood. Pours black with almost no head (tan). Aroma of roasted malts, smoke, some tar, coffee. Taste is medium bitter, roasted malts, coffee, some sweetness, dark chocolate. Heavy body, soft carbinisation, thick. Bitter finish.Good beer but I hoped more.

Pours black, beige-to-brown head. Aroma of dark malts, dark sugar, dark fruit. In taste it’s nicely balanced; plenty of sweetness, great hop bitterness, loads of coffee and caramel. Full bodied. Very drinkable. Great.

Bottle from Uba ja Humal in Tallinn. Bottled 7.5.14. Near black. Head beige, not exactly big, but retains as a thin layer, leaving no lacing. The aroma is thick cocoa-chocolate-coffee-toffee-raisins-plums, some tar and ash... wonderful... Tastes as fckn nice. Or even better. It’s so sweet yet not overly so, it’s somewhat boozy but the alcohol is not very overpowering, it’s really pleasant in this mix. Some burning bitterness in the finish. Nice thin graininess on the palate, body heavy, palate vinous and chewy, carbonation present but nearly unnoticeable. This is a really nice brew.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2015 Tap at Irreale. Borwnish hed. Black thick opaque. Aroma is complex and rich, cocoa, prune and coffee. Taste is cocoa, prune, coffee, burnt caramel, remindind ’irish coffee’. Very creamy palate with dry but mouthful aftertaste. One of the very best imperial stouts!

Mighty fine stout. Beautiful dark color with a substantial lacing with an oily and smooth coating of the mouth. A lot of roasted flavor and aroma with coffee, bitterness, woody and earthy.

@manis Thun. Fast schwarz, wenig fester Schaum. Bitterschokolade, wenig gerösteter Kaffe und wenig fruchtige Hopfennoten. Im Antrunk Schockoladig süss, Kaffee, Süssholz und andere Hölzer. Dann schöne Bittere die entgegenhält. Vollmundig, samtig-cremig, nicht viel Co2. Alkohol perfekt eingebunden. Am Schluss bleibt lang die obigen Gouts und etwas Vanille, Sultaninen. Wunderbares Stout.

Bottle 330ml, pours dark brown to black delicatly sparkling with almost no head. Deep aroma of dark chocolate with some raisins, licorice and a touch of vanilla. In taste medium chocolate sweetness with good balanced bitterness of roasted malt. I can’t get rid of the feeling that there is some spiciness in the background, like there were chillies added, even though they aren’t on the ingredients list. Full bodied with very well hidden alcohol, nevertheless it’s a bit to heavy for me. Nice one but not the most impressive from De Molen.
