3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour dark brown, with a small tan head that doesn’t want to linger.
Aroma is pretty roasted with plenty of ground coffee, faint chocolate, some smoke. The typical smooth verdoemenis is hitten in the back, with the heavy coffee dominating.
Taste is faintly sweet, but is dominating bitter, from the middle throughout the aftertaste.
Medium bodied, with a somewhat flat carbonation. I’m a sucker for verdoemenis, and this isn’t verdoemenis enough to me. Still tasty though.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottled Sep 13, 2013, rated Oct 27, 2014. Pours dark black with none to minimal brownish head. Aroma is definitely coffee, some chocolate, roasted malts, mocha, caramel... Smell reminded me a lot of tiramisù cake. Which is sweet in that typical mocha/coffee-like way. Pretty nice aroma, maybe a bit too coffee-ish though. But that’s a minor point. Taste is roasty and bitter with a clear note of the coffee and the present sugars and chcolate, giving it a lovely sweet bite within its bitterness. Beautiful roasty and bitter aftertaste which still beholds its coffee-ish kick and a slight warmishness in the very end. Truly, a great raw taste. Medium bodied, oily, yet a bit thinnish texture and average carbonation. This brew stunned me enormously. Tasty until the end with a clear balance within the spectre of bitterness. Great find.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In bottle from Amsterdam; amazing aroma as the coffee really comes through. The taste wasn’t as good ... some coffee notes, though the beer was quite low bodied and the alcohol popped right through all the notes .. overall an OK beer but I probably would not buy again

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Black as the deepest dungeon. With a surprisingly fine beige head. Good looking. Aroma….ehh hell yeah. What did you think? Coffee! Holy cow what a pleasant body. So thick and yet so easy drinkable. Smooth and balanced. Not to sweet, not to bitter. Flavor totally dominated by coffee. So what. Just a pure pleasure to drink this crazy stuff. Dangerously well hidden alcohol. Coffee, chocolate, mild licorice, mocha and espresso. Some fruity notes.

roasted lightly bitter coffee beer. initial taste is very smooth and soft medium sweet. Towards the end more dry and bitter. Leaves a coffee taste in the mouth. Very good but needs a bit of oomph to rise to the top.
