33cl bottled 19-9-2011 from DM beershop.

0,33 l bottle.
Poured black as hell with a creamy small beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, some peat, caramel and tobacco, liqueric, plum and overriped, cocoa and ash, fruits and a lot of stimulus. Rich body, very rich body with a lot of chocolate and molasses, raisins and fruits, plum and cocoa, lactose and cream, wood and lurkin tart, easy hops, and......wow, this is a beer heaven....

(33cl bottle) Courtesy of Blomster. Pours nearly no head and a black body. Nose of solid alcoholic notes, soya sauce and bitter coffee. Much sweeter on the tongue, good whiskey in the mid-palate and a lasting, almost majestic proper Black Forest cake finish with a cherry liqueur and coffee cake. This really is quite enjoyable and deserving of the high marks. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPod

Nice whisky notes in this one...pronounced enough to be noticeable without distracting from the other elements. Onyx pour capped in a tightly packed chocolate cake. Brownie batter, rich fudge, vanilla, charred oak and roasted coffee beans. Sticks to the roof of your mouth like peanut butter!

330ml bottle. Opaque black with small to average, firm, creamy, lacing, brown head. Intense and complex aroma: dark malt, dark chocolate, coffee, some roast, supported by wood-dominated whiskey notes, some alcohol. Mouthfilling palate, taste has dark roasty malt, lots of coffee, a chocolately intermediate, whiskey notes in the background which, in combination with some alcohol, gain more ground in the finish that otherwise exhibits long lasting coffee notes. A very good Imperial Stout with enough body and character to withstand the whiskey notes; the whiskey does not suppress the proper beer as in many other cases, but is complementary integrated to the other flavours.

Bottle. [thanks Cees, Mark and Jos]
All black pour with a tiny, staying, creamy, beige film head. Lovely roasted malts profile, chocolate, smoke, oak, blackberries, hazelnuts, vanilla, cocoa. Very lovely. Low carbonation, fat and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is really amazingly vanilla. Roasted, dark chocolate, lots of hazelnuts, mild vinious. Lots of fine malty bitterness with firm cocoa presence. Lots of sweetness, but it’s not cloying as it’s easy to identify as vanilla and cocoa. Lovely.

33cl bottle - thanks to Kamiel. Midnight black with almost no head, just a wisp of a mocha ring around the outside of the glass. Initial aroma makes me say wow: great combination of bittersweet chocolate, vanilla, coffee, light peat, some oak, and light alcohol. Low carbonation, moderate body, somewhat sweet with a slight tang and alcohol undertone, becomes a little syrupy on the finish, lots of alcohol, chocolate, and scotch. A very tasty take on a what is a good beer to begin with.

Thanks to Ibrew2or3 for the share! Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma has scotch, fudge and coffee leading the way. Taste is sweet with some roast and a bit of alcohol. Medium bodied and oily. A luscious beer. Really tasty. Thanks Dave!

Big thanks to Baron for providing this longtime want. Pours a dense, omnious black in color with no head. Nose is extremely rich chocolate, some gentle booze, malt, caramel, and a little oak. Flavor is similar to the nose, it is rich chocolate, oak, and malt. The barrel character is all but lost in the flavor profile. Mouthfeel is thicker with some moderate booziness, light carbonation, and a long finish. Not a bad barrel aged stout, but I really wish there would be more barrel character here. We had this side by side with the base beer and that beer was absolutely god awful. This is a much better effort but I’m left wishing the barrel would influence the end product more.

Picked up at De Molen. Pours deep dark mahogany with tan looking head. The aroma started off holy hell GOOD with fresh packed chocolate fudge brownie followed closely by burnt toffee (I love that), some smooth oak wood and a bit of subtle smooth whiskey. Wow! Great mix of aromatics. The taste delivers dark roasted malts, burnt malts, chocolate fudge brownie goodness and dark chocolate bar. It then runs into some smooth oak and then fairly smooth peaty Scotch boozy whiskey. This achieves a great balance of the delicious base beer this is (the base beer seems even better than I remember, maybe this treatment has enhanced it) and the barrel treatment.
