Pour opaque black, with no head at all. Nice rich aroma of chocolate, roasted coffee, a bit dark fruits, and plenty of oak. The whiskey isn’t as dominating as the misto or turkey B.A. Taste is nice and sweet, from All the chocolate, with a more dry and bitter end, from all the mocca. Medium-full body, with very little carbonation.

Sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2011. Pours a pitch black beer with a weak beige head. The aroma is malt, roasted, licorice and coffee. The flavor follows the nose with additional chocolate. The palate is sweetness. Overall a really good and balanced beer with some complex notes. [Rating #2600]

This is not an improvement on the H&V, but it comes close. The MacAllan barrels leave a pungent whiskey aroma and slightly sour taste, but the foundational H&V dark roasted malts control the burn.

Black with a fizzy tan head. Earthy chocolate and peated whiskey aroma and taste with caramel oak vanilla and chocolate finish.

Tap @ BBF. Motor oil black color, frothy brown head. Aroma has tons of very enjoyable finnish liquorice, hidden behind a smooth veil of vanilla and a seasoning of smoky notes with some pepper. Very dark maple syrup as well. Taste has the same characteristics as the aroma, with a liitle more syrupy sweetness.

On tap @ BBF 2011. The aroma has roast, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, whiskey, smoke. Oily, black coloured beer with no head. The taste is quite bitter, has some sweetness, chocolate, soy sauce, whisky, roast. Smooth, nice, full.

Draught @ Borefts 2011. Black, with no head. Licorice, molasses, whiskey, vanilla dominate the nose and the aroma. Sweet taste in a medium body. Good one.

On Tap @ Borefts Beer Festival. Pour pitch black, very little head. Nose of wax varnish (whiskey barrel), coffe, dark fruits, little vanilla and raisins. Taste is alike, but the aftertaste palate makes me think chocolate cake and lots of pure caramel. Nice!

@ borefts festival 2011

Head: none
Colour: black
Smell: nuty, salty,coffee,roasty,chocolat,teriyaki,sweet
Taste: candy, coffee, caramel, bitter, chocolat, roasty, tiny bit boozy, end is earthy dry , aftertaste is bitter .... this one is clearly the mildest one of the BA Hel & Verdoemenis series ....
