3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap @ Borefts Beer Festival. Pours black with no head. Aroma has instant barrel impressions with vanilla up front, whisky, coconut, then smooth chocolate, sweet liquorice, coffee, nice roasted with hints of dark fruits and berries. Very sweet aroma, and the whisky is well implemented and not overpowering at all. Taste has cocoa, liquorice, nice whisky impresions, vanilla, dark berries, coconut all in a thick bodied and low carbonated elixir. I really like the use of the barrel in this beer. Very well done.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black with a way to small head, a bit sad... Liquorish coffee, with slightly some chocolate getting trough. A nice sweetness, combined with a good biterness. Lots of coffee getting trough. A very decent beer for sure.

Black. No head at first but one appears a few seconds later. Big and tan. Minimal lacing. Big whiskey smell and chocolate. Taste more chocolate than whiskey. Tastes kind of like a tootsie roll. Sweet and thick. Decent, but a bit too sweet and cloying.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Borefts 2011. Whisky hint in the nose, so you know what you can expect. The whisky taste in this beer starts rather subtle, but intensifies during the sip and is quite strongly present in the aftertaste. However, De Molen managed to find a nice balance in this, better than they did with the 666 (cognac) version which I tasted next to this beer.
