Pours black with a finger of light tan head. Aroma of bourbon barrel, muscovado, dark chocolate, figs, raisins. Taste is initial light bitter followed by a big, bold port sweetness. Lots of peats and barrel in the body. Medium to full with low carbonation. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Very dark brown - almost black, small to average and mostly diminishing dark brown head. Moderate to full, malty and sweet aroma, lots of roasted malt and light coffee, some dark fruits - vinous notes, light vanilla - oak. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor, roasted malt and light coffee with dark fruits, some vanilla. Finish is average to long, malty and sweetish, lots of roasted malt and some coffee, light vanilla and hoppyness, light alcohol. Pretty good IS with dark fruit and vinous notes in the aroma. Flavor is more roasted malt and some vanilla. Aroma/flavor not in balance - not too much coffee, though.

11,14,13,13,13,13 - 12,95

Thanks Johan! Pours dark with a ring of tan foam. Aroma is char, licorice, black strap molasses, and cocoa powder. Taste is really complex and wonderful. Chocolate, nuts, licorice, char, roasted malt, molasses, and sweet bourbon. Really delicious. A masterpiece.

clear deep reddish brown with medium stable brown head. Lacing nicely. Aroma.. uhh.. another great imp from de Molen.. Theres all I expect from great.. and I really mean great imp. Intense, strong, but not too pushy. Very well balanced and enjoyable. Intense roasted malts decent dark chocolate, notes of bourbon. Some spices. .vanilla, licorice.. and again.. I am not a fan of licorice, but here its in right place. Raisins, quite vinous, bit fruity, kinda oaky Mostly sweet with decent bitter finish. Quite dry. Its quite expensive, but worth it =] awesome brew

Bourbon barel aged. Strong nice aroma. Dark brown with small fast disapearing cap. Rich taste with sweety bitter and bit sour taste, with smoked chockolade / coffee notes, mild at beginning.

UPDATED: APR 28, 2013 330mL bottle, pours black with a small beige / tan head. Nose is very rich, full of bourbon barrels, heavily roasted (nearly burnt) malt, dark chocolate, and more bourbon - extremely complex. Flavour is intensely complex and rich, full of deep dark chocolate, exquisite bourbon barrels, a little treacly notes, and some wood. Extremely rich and deeply layered, with the barrels used to perfection - not overburdening in any way. The sweetness factor is low, which is how I prefer my impie stouts. Finishes on notes of bourbon and rich, barely sweetened dark chocolate. A wonderful BA rendition of Hel & Verdoemenis.

330 ml bottle - pours dark dark brown with no head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, some roasted coffee beans. Full body with nice bitterness, in the finish burning alcohol. Flavour is chocolate and some more vanilla. Very nice beer, but a bit watery for my taste.
