Kleine slokjes grote smaken. Ik ben om!

Thick black body with almost no head. Leather, mild peat, oak and vanilla nose. Full body. Tad sweet . Moderate bitterness and an oily creamy texture. Almost no carbonation. I can not say it is anything wrong with this one. Probably heaven for those who love this flavors. I am not unfortunately not a fan. But it have a fine profile with leather, mild peat, vanilla, oak and some coffee. It is a really complex ale with many dimensions.

Chocolate, oak, a lot of oak and very deep rounded smoke character with a prominent roastiness. A bit of dark fruit, mostly raisin, aswell as prominent bourbon character. Quite dry, but a lot of unsweetened dark chocolate/cocoa nibs, most outstanding is the oak character.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A- pours an opaque cola brown with mahogany edges. Thin tan head that quickly thins and clings. Light lacing. S- espresso, bakers chocolate, maple, twigs, anise, chalk, cacao. Grainy malts, booze and oak support. M- some thickness to the medium oily body with a medium bitter palate. Mild to medium bitter palate that goes down with good burn. T- dark chocolate, graham cracker and vanilla up front. Bourbon and oak follow with cacao, coffee, roasted malts and wood on the mid palate. Brings to mind the profile of a barley wine. As it warms some rhubarb appears. Ending is bitter and sharp with an almost tannic quality. Minerals and grass as well as tobacco and vegetal notes come through.

Little 6oz bottle, stamped 222. Big thanks to Erik for the top 100 tick. Nose has some very dark European roast with a touch of booze. Taste is a lot if dark fruit, sweet cherries, some booze that to me comes off more fortified wine than bourbon. Palate was a bit thin and rather flat. Otherwise a very tasty little bottle.

Very dark pour with a minimal head. The nose has clear borbon notes and milk chocolate notes. Very inviting. The mouthfeel is thick and oily with pretty much no carbonation. The taste is very ballanced with soft oak, chocolate, spicy/sweet malt and maybe a hint of vanilla. The alcohol is very well hidden here and the whole thing just works really well. Lingering malty sweetness after the last sip. Wish I had more bottles waiting...
