Draft at Mikkeller Bar Copenhagen. Pours a black colored beer with a small brown head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. In the mouth again coffee, chocolate, licorice. A lot of alcohol coming through making it slichtly unbalanced.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
18 cl bottle from Systembolaget. From batch bottled 110214, bottle 93 out of 360. Black liquid with minimal brown head that dissipates in seconds. Some nice lacing. Smells of wood/oak, bourbon, licorice, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and some caramel. Very elegant. Taste is medium sweet with medium to high bitterness (no less than 99.9 IBUs) with lots of wonderful, chocolatey and coffeish notes. The bourbon ageing is well noticed but absolutely not overpowering. Taste is also very elegant and balanced. Some alcoholic burn, but that’s expected. Full bodied with little carbonation and smooth, sticky mouthfeel. Overall, stunning imp stout with great balance and elegance.

Draught @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Rated @ 27.5.2011.
Pours a pitch black colour with a beautiful dark brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and oak. Flavour of roasted malts, oak, bourbon, hops and smooth caramel. Full bodied with a thick mouthfeel and a dry, roasty, caramel-like finish where the bourbon barrel feels slightly stinging. Yet another tasty brew from De Molen.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Kleine 180 Milliliter-Flasche mit der Seriennummer 1000! Jubel!
Im Geruch malzig, fruchtig, eindeutig süß. Aromen von Orange, Holz und Likör.
Antrunk süß, orangig, malzbetont. Danach malzschokoladig, rauchig und schon sehr alkoholisch unterwandert. Dabei weiterhin süß. Abgangs enorm dicht toffee-nougatartig und alkoholisch brennend.
Ein Schwergewicht von einem Imperial Stout. Gewaltige Aromen.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle shared by TurdFurgison recently served side by side by side with the base beer and Wild Turkey versions, quite a cool thing to do. This was my second favorite although it was close for me for first place.
Beer is black with almost no head, lower carbonation than the parent beer and no lacing to speak of.
The nose is nicer than the original too. Sweeter, less roasty, mostly a clean, smooth, chocolate, mildly vanillic, oakiness to it. More yeast character in this version too.
This one was balanced and mild overall, the creaminess of the mouthfeel was the most incredible thing about it. The barrel aging character seemed a bit muted to me though. Something about this one, I wasn’t expecting them to be "in my face" but a little more aggressive wouldn’t have been a bad thing. I want to taste the barrel more is what I’m saying and I missed out slightly here. This is why it came in second for me.

18cl bottle at home. Pours black with small beige head that soon disappears. Rich aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and some caramel. Thick mouthfeel with flavors of bourbon, oak, vanilla, coffee and chocolate. Slight alcohol burn after, but all round smooth and full bodied. Fantastic beer!

Huge thanks to Eric for bringing this bottle out. Served alongside the regular version and the Wild Turkey version. Served in a FFF-Intelligentsia snifter.
Pours nearly-black with a very thin mocha head that froths up momentarily and then disappears quite quickly. The nose is really creamy and almost buttery, but in a good way. Loads of chocolate and really smooth. Moderate barrel character lingers in the background, though it’s not overpowering. Light oak and some vanilla. The flavor is bursting with a creamy chocolate character with some very light roast and nice barrel character. Medium body and incredibly smooth. No detectable alcohol. This was the winner for me.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pony bottle number 40. Thanks Allen for this seriously rare dutch brew. This beer consists of Hell and Damnation aged in three barrels and blended. The barrels were wild turkey bourbon, austin nichols, and new charred bourbon barrels. Pour is a sinful, deep black shade. Insanely sticky brown lacing and head that retains until you finish the glass. Loads of miniscule bubbles present in the foam. Aromas of rich chocolate mousse, brown sugar, vanilla, regular and smokey bourbon notes, leather. Taste is creamy chocolate cake, licorice, bourbon, charred wood, raisins, dark plum. This beer was so full in flavor with a warming quality in the body. A truly amazing beer, and one of my favorite imperial stouts that I have tried to this date.
