330 ml bottle, bottled Jan 28 2013. Dark pour with minimal head. Carbonation on the low side. Aroma of ashes, chocolate, coffee, booze. Ok. Tastes quite a bit better, boozy chocolate, smooth. Long finish. Great beer.

Not the best de molen IRS I had but still very good. Choclate and espresso dominate in the flavor and the bourbon is very much present.

Bottle sample from notes (Jackie o’s tasting). Pours a very dark brown to black with a small tan head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, dark chocolate, char, whiskey notes, wood, and some dark fruit. Boozy at times, but this was solid.

Pours very dark with hardly a head. Aroma of dark fruit and roasted malts. Flavor of coffee roasted malts, caramel and dark chocolate. Excellent contribution of the bourbon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beer #900 on RB. Bottled Jan 2013 at 11%. Black, some white bubbles but no real head. Smell - initially plastic, crayon, marmite, bourbon, wet paint. Settles down over time. Body is medium, slight carbonation, slightly foamy in the mouth. Taste - smooth chocolate, marmite, leather, bourbon, quite a lot of tannins and it’s drying. There is also an alcoholic sharpness to it. Bit heavy on the stomach but some air improves it. Starts tasting like flat pepsi after a while. Overall, it was slightly disappointing but a decent beer. Needs a few years in the bottle I think.

This one poured a darker brown with a beige head. Aroma was of smoke, light oak and chocolate. Flavor was caramel, chocolate, small and small barrel notes. OK but not outstanding.

Bottle @ Armin’s palace, courtesy of arminjewell. Pours a thick black appearance with a small brown head. A touch peaty, thick dark chocolate, a bit spicy, whiskey aroma. Really rich dark chocolate, a bit spicy, coffee, slight whiskey. Delicious.

Pour out of nip bottle, dark black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of big bourbon, oak, slight earthy notes into vanilla, slight coffee, hints of slight roast, the age has mellowed it out a lot. Taste is a mix of dark fruit, chocolate, roast, hints of oak, slight vanilla, slight earth in there as well, hints of dark bourbon, finishing sweet, slightly dry.

Bottle at FoCo Stout Tasting 2013, courtesy of Armin. Thanks man! Pour is dark brown with no head. Big roasty, toffee, raisins, caramelly, bourbon, figgy, and dark fruity aroma. Taste is deep dark chocolates, cherries, somewhat fruity, caramel, espresso, bready, and leather with a light roasted finish. Slick mouthfeel with no carbonation. Pretty good, but like the original better.
