Very dark pour with a minimal head. The nose has clear borbon notes and milk chocolate notes. Very inviting. The mouthfeel is thick and oily with pretty much no carbonation. The taste is very ballanced with soft oak, chocolate, spicy/sweet malt and maybe a hint of vanilla. The alcohol is very well hidden here and the whole thing just works really well. Lingering malty sweetness after the last sip. Wish I had more bottles waiting...

bottle shared. Oxidiation is on this one, flat as as well. Not much for bourbon flavors, just a sharp sweetness. Might be too old here.

Great BA stout but its not as good as the other variants that ive had. Heavy cocoa, ash, vanilla, and burnt toast. FInishes bitter with come coffee and chocolate. The bourbon is not very noticeable. Lots of bitter char.

Duft: meget kraftig duft af vanilje, kakao. ege, bourbon, lidt soja duft. Smag: meget stor og smagfuld øl. meget sød. Brandt malt. alt for lidt co2 til min smag.

180 ml bottle @ home. 2009 vintage bottled in 2010. Pours a thick oily pitch black fluid with no head at all. Intense aroma with lots of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, sweet syrup. Taste is silky smooth with bourbon, roasted malts, chocolate and caramel. Nice thick mouthfeel. Really good!

Bottle dated Jan-13, I picked up a the Bierkonig in Amsterdam. Plours black with some deep red hue. nose is beautiful complex with black malt, mild coffee, leather, oak, bourbon and coco. first sip is similar with nice dark and milk chocolate, just a bit thin in the finish. still an amazing beer

Backlog. Bottle nr. 767. Tried this right when they came from the brewery, the bottles were definitely too young and overpowering, this is a beer for aging.

One year old bottle. Deep dark brown almost black if bit for a slight red tint and almost no head to speak of. Deep smell of malt, with lots of black roast, coffee and burnt malt. The smell of oak and bourbon is clearly present but softened by the clear chocolate. Medium to full oily body. The alcohol is present but already subdued. Dark bitter chocolate, berry, and soft roast that finished with some alcohol warmness, vanilla, caramel, and lots of roasted malt. Leaving the mouth as if I just had a shot.
