UPDATED: JUL 24, 2013 2013 bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, chocolate, caramel and bourbon in the aroma. Raisin. Malty sweet caramelly boozy flavor with bourbon, raisin, coffee and dark chocolate. Sweet, but complex and delicious dessert beer.
2010 nip bottle: mix of H&V barrel aged for almost a year on Wild Turkey, Austin Nichols and new charcoaled bourbon barrels, and then mixed, according to the label. Almost black and opague. Strong aroma of dark chocolate, dried fruit and bourbon. Roasted and charcoaled flavor with coffee, strong bourbon notes and dark chocolate. Malty sweet but very complex. Long earthy hopbitter finish with charcoal and bourbon. World class! (9 4 9 4 18 = 4.4)

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at home, from Cotteridge Wines, 14/07/13.
Mid black, thin tan film that retains well.
Nose is roast malt, brown sugar, light booze, chocolate, oaky, vanilla, toffee fudge.
Taste comprises dark malts, light roastyness, chocolate, demerara sugars, toffee fudge, subtle bourbon notes giving a nice boozey taste but by no means overhwelming.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, smooth and caressing to the palate.
Great stuff, the best Impy Iíve had in a while - will buy up more of these given the chance. The alcohol is hardly noticeable, the mouth feel pitched perfectly making it dangerousuly drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours pitch black with a small white head that receeds into a small rim that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is boozy, almost completely boozy like a spirit. Taste is minimally sweet with a lot of alcohol heat/tingle. I didnít get much "in your face" bourbon but there is some nice and light bourbon notes in the flavor along with some caramel and light roast. Mouthfeel is OK, with a medium body and a lighter carbonation which actually feels higher because of all the alcohol which is not hidden at all. This was drinkable and even better than the regular H&V to me but not by much.

(bottle) pours black in colour with a frothy brown head. aroma of brown sugar, heavy earth and toasted malts, with some strong alcohol, lavender, caramel and dark chocolate. flavour is mostly the same, very mellow, with lots of chocolate, brown sugar and toffee, a medium sweetness, some vanilla, treebark and a light roasted-bitter finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
An excellent barrel-aged stout, not overwhelming bourbon character, great chocolate character while not being a rush of sugar to the dome. One of the standout beers from Festival 2013 for me.

to my opinion , this is an alias to the íregularí hel en verdoemenis misto . anyway, if you wanna make iot a diffrent entry, here are my thoughts on it . it tastes exaclty the same. small taste diffrence though ( batch variation) as the 2009 18 cl bottle labeled hem en verdoemenis misto, was more WAAW to me . this, on the other hand, is very, very good. but it didnt shock me as much as the 2009 . its very good though and i hope it will get better when its aged a bit .

bottle very kindly given to me by menno himself !
also traded one with sfhodense , so now i have 2 , time to open 1 !
i chose bottle no 1343 as my first misto. the old batch, 18 cl bottle. bottled june 8th , 2010 . drank 15th of february 2013
pours black, no foam ( no mather what i tried) in my de molen tasting glass.
smell is very hel en verdoemenis-ish.
77Ships was right ( again)
THE perfect beer, again. that hel en verdoemenis-taste, that warmth, ... FUUUUCK
menno what are you doing to me and my wallet?
taste is bitter, sweet, warmth , bitter , low carbo
fuck everyone i traded with, bought beer of, and fuck menno for making this now ( after the 666ís) these are all reasons i can onley buy a few bottles of this ... GODDAMNED this is goooood! if anyone out there has bottles of this, put me in your testament and die !
:p damn i didnt believe it would be this good ...
between this and the 666 ? ( the onley other 5 out of 5 rating) ? ive drank 666 about 20 times now , so this is more of a thrill (new) . so ill let you know when i had multiples of this :)
update : batch 2 ( i think ? ) 2013 release. still freaking epic, . less intence , maybe. the 2009 a few months ago ( late 2012 , i believe ) was a HINT better. but might be cause of the age , more than the brewing. . imlma give this a 4,8 as a medium between 5 ( 18 cl bottle ) and a 4,6 ( witch iíd give the new batch ) hopefully, this also gets to be as good as the old one ?
