Bottle at home, from Cotteridge Wines, 14/07/13. Mid black, thin tan film that retains well. Nose is roast malt, brown sugar, light booze, chocolate, oaky, vanilla, toffee fudge. Taste comprises dark malts, light roastyness, chocolate, demerara sugars, toffee fudge, subtle bourbon notes giving a nice boozey taste but by no means overhwelming. Full bodied, fine carbonation, smooth and caressing to the palate. Great stuff, the best Impy I’ve had in a while - will buy up more of these given the chance. The alcohol is hardly noticeable, the mouth feel pitched perfectly making it dangerousuly drinkable.

Fløska # 258. Very deep deep dark brown almost just black colour with a small dark brown creamish head. Good lacing. Aroma of well roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, alcohol, dark fruit, sweet. Good filling mouthfeel indeed! Lovely roasted maltiness in the sweet flavour with chocolate, vanilla, wood, coffee, dark fruits and alcohol. Well lasting finish: Roasted malt and choolate, coffee, wood and a pleasant bitterness. YUUUUUUM!

It’s pitch-black without any head, and the mouth-feel is oily and delicious. The aroma has notes of hard-roasted malt, wood, licorice, coffee and caramel. The flavour is sweet and soft with notes of hard-roasted malt, licorice, oak and tannic acid, coffee, dark fruits, caramel, and the finish is bone dry – it’s a really nice one!

from erzbierschof.ch - pitch black coloured with no foam left; roasted aroma of black chocolate, coffee and vanilla, whisky-like notes; full-bodied and with a gentle carbonation; thick and with a fair bitterness; long coffeish and chocolatey finish with notes of whisky and wood - wonderful!

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Murky, dark brown ale (nearly black) with little to no head. The lavish bouquet is an excellent marriage of chocolate, cologne, fudge, coconut and a subtle note of bourbon. Full-bodied and ultra creamy with tickling carbonation. The flavor provides dark chocolate, whiskey and fudge. Deeply roasted, bittersweet, warming finish. World class beer shared by darkguardian. Thanks, Chris!

Very sweet, a touch vanilla-ey, and with a super mellow coffee taste too. Sweet and soft. Lovely little sipper.

Black pour, very small brownish head. Aroma starts with big bold bakers chocolate, booze, asphalt and some light coffee. Flavor is smooth and delicious. Booze, chocolate, oak, molasses, prunes, raisins, and very light ashy/coffee notes. Great beer. Really awesome.
