UPDATED: JUL 24, 2013 2013 bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, chocolate, caramel and bourbon in the aroma. Raisin. Malty sweet caramelly boozy flavor with bourbon, raisin, coffee and dark chocolate. Sweet, but complex and delicious dessert beer. 2010 nip bottle: mix of H&V barrel aged for almost a year on Wild Turkey, Austin Nichols and new charcoaled bourbon barrels, and then mixed, according to the label. Almost black and opague. Strong aroma of dark chocolate, dried fruit and bourbon. Roasted and charcoaled flavor with coffee, strong bourbon notes and dark chocolate. Malty sweet but very complex. Long earthy hopbitter finish with charcoal and bourbon. World class! (9 4 9 4 18 = 4.4)

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2012 Draught at de Molen. Great aroma of whiskey, cocoa, vanilla, dates. Lots of bourbon apparent in the taste. Overall good stuff. Would like to compare to the bottled version laid down for a few years. 4.3 Bottle #1624 courtesy of Holy, thanks for fulfilling my wish. Brewed July 2009, bottled June 2010, consumed August 2012. Pretty much black, coaxable large bubble head that settles quickly. Aroma is somewhat more subtle and subdued. Tasty is ceamy coffee, espresso and caramel liqueuer covered with chocolate and vanilla. Aroma is now a 9 and taste is a 10. Definitely worth the wait! 4.4

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Murky, dark brown ale (nearly black) with little to no head. The lavish bouquet is an excellent marriage of chocolate, cologne, fudge, coconut and a subtle note of bourbon. Full-bodied and ultra creamy with tickling carbonation. The flavor provides dark chocolate, whiskey and fudge. Deeply roasted, bittersweet, warming finish. World class beer shared by darkguardian. Thanks, Chris!
