4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
180 ml bottle. #131/2483. Bottled 2010. From Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Dark Coke like black colour with almost no head.
Vinous aroma with red wine and roasted malt. Wine is soon taking over the Imperial Stout in aroma. Flavour is more Imperial Stout. Roasted malt and liquorice. Alcohol presence is inevitable. This kicks ass.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle thanks to Scott! Pours a dark brown with a brown head that dissipates completely. Aroma has a good amount of bourbon with a roasted malt not as well as a bit of dark chocolate. Flavor has a good amount of roast with a decent amount of chocolate backing and a hint of bourbon.

(180ml bottle, brewed 7-23-09 bottled 6-8-10 #2150 thanks to bu11zeye, rating #2400!) near black pour, still body. Nose of fudge, barrel, bourbon, graham cracker, smells absolutely delicious! I donít think it could smell better. Taste of fudge, mild alcohol, sweet brown sugar, dark chocolate, so complex, layers, and delicious! Bourbon, vanilla, thick body, and an extremely long duration of flavor! Huge thanks Markus! Probably a top 10 imperial stout for me without question.

Bottle at home, from Cotteridge Wines, 14/07/13.
Mid black, thin tan film that retains well.
Nose is roast malt, brown sugar, light booze, chocolate, oaky, vanilla, toffee fudge.
Taste comprises dark malts, light roastyness, chocolate, demerara sugars, toffee fudge, subtle bourbon notes giving a nice boozey taste but by no means overhwelming.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, smooth and caressing to the palate.
Great stuff, the best Impy Iíve had in a while - will buy up more of these given the chance. The alcohol is hardly noticeable, the mouth feel pitched perfectly making it dangerousuly drinkable.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2011 180 ml wedding present from lushawn- thanks a ton, Shawn, for going off the registry! Split this with the new wife. Bottle 638/2483. Brewed 23 July 2009, bottled 8 June 2010. Pours a deep, opaque brown with minimal carbonation and a miniscule tan ring for a head. Incredible aroma of bourbon, vanilla, dark fruits (figs, dates, plums, berries), charred oak, earth, black olive juice, coconut, and roasted malts. Flavor of rich roasted coffee, tobacco, vanilla, bourbon, charred oak, earth, mixed nuts, cocoa, and coconut. Lingering rich roast with some warmth in the back of the palate and chest. Medium-full bodied, with low carbonation. Smooth and rich. Awesome.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour out of nip bottle, dark black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of big bourbon, oak, slight earthy notes into vanilla, slight coffee, hints of slight roast, the age has mellowed it out a lot. Taste is a mix of dark fruit, chocolate, roast, hints of oak, slight vanilla, slight earth in there as well, hints of dark bourbon, finishing sweet, slightly dry.
