Huge Thanks to SeaBass Bottle 723 of 2483 A: Pours a nice dark black hue. Small tan head which dies to a tight ring. Spotty lace. S: Mild aromas really for a RIS. Smokey, peaty, and charred. Deeply roasted malt, chocolate, mild dark fruit. T: Wonderful rich flavors. Earthy, lightly peated with hints of smoke. Chocolate and coffee are there with hints of booze. M: Medium in body, light carbonation. D: Very good, tasty brew, one I am honored to have tried.

bottle bought @ Struise store. #723/2483, bo 06/08/10 dark brown, light mocha head, served near room temp. aroma, definitely boozy, malty with some yeast elements, nose is a little weak compared to what I had anticipated. flavors, nice bourbon, touch of peat though not overdone. Profile keeps a nice lingering coffee roast palate, along with some caramel and peat finish.

2010-07-31. Very dark black body, small beige head fades. Rich boozy aroma, sweet bourbon, muted woody oak. 7+ Flavour is similarly rich, modest bourbon, sweet boozy character, sweet rich base malt. Smooth medium to full bodied palate. Very nice, surprisingly well balanced. Bottle at ChrisOs Pre-GBBF Shindig 2010

Bottled@The Chriso Rock The Roof Down pre-GBBF shindig. Pitch black colour, tiny brownish head. Aroma is quite much brandy/sherrylike with also some liquorice, chocolate, mild vanilla as well as some alcohol. Flavour is liquorice, some vanilla, mild cocoa, chocolate with also some sweet alcohol. Finishes in a quite brandy/sherrylike burn. Still rather much of the Hel & Verdoeminis left, which makes this very drinkable.

Tiny-ass bottle shared by alfrantzell. Pours black and moderately thick with a small tan head that leaves a ring. Big aroma of chocolate and molasses, with a little soy sauce and a little roast. Great flavor. Thereís soy sauce in there, but itís not a bad thing. Sweet caramel and chocolate, roast, and slight wood. Extremely smooth and rather thick on the palate. Low carbonation. A great tick overall. Why not bottle this in bigger bottles?

Bottled 18cl. It pours a pitch black beer with a decent small beige head. Strong aroma of coffee, oak and gentian. Full bodied and syrupy. Mocha reminiscence throughout.

(Bottled) Very warming, licoricey, lots of black coffee and mocca, vanilla and bourbon, sourish notes, quite intense overall. Alcohol well hidden. Not as thick as one would imagine. Enjoyable. 6457

One of Menos small fancy bottles waxed with green and numbered. This one is number 15. Thick black pour with a fine inch high dark brown frothy head that tends to fade. Its pretty thick stucc and it hold heavy curtains when rolled in the glass. The nose is huge and filled with nicely balanced bourbon vanilla and roasted malts. The alcohol also stands out pretty clear along with both coffee and chocolate. NIce. The taste is backing up the aroma. Its pretty harch at first but slides over to a mild and sweet caramelish and chokolatish taste with a biting alcohol touch along with it. The vanilla stands out - but only so much as it backed the intire picture and not overtaking it. Thats so important with these bourbon aged beers. The mouthfeel is not as thick as aspected from the appearence, but still its quite a mouthfull but very drinkable. Lovely

Pours a beautiful oily, dense, thick black, no head to speak of. The nose is quite classic of whisky aged stouts, you have this deep spicy sweet boozy aroma almost covering the coffee & malty choco. The tasting is quite extraordinary, I donít really need to mention the rich velvet body as you would expect that from DM impy stouts, but you get this initial whack of whisky laced, boozy spice and malt. Just as you think this might be all whisky & no trousers it suddenly changes on the pallet, the imperial stout flavours kick in with a bit of bitterness, there comes, choco, espresso, liquorice, dark malts with an incredible zing. Then youíre left with an enormous finish of milk choco with delicate background bitterness & spice. A taste sensatin, for me though I prefer less whisky influence.
