4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
(180ml bottle, brewed 7-23-09 bottled 6-8-10 #2150 thanks to bu11zeye, rating #2400!) near black pour, still body. Nose of fudge, barrel, bourbon, graham cracker, smells absolutely delicious! I donít think it could smell better. Taste of fudge, mild alcohol, sweet brown sugar, dark chocolate, so complex, layers, and delicious! Bourbon, vanilla, thick body, and an extremely long duration of flavor! Huge thanks Markus! Probably a top 10 imperial stout for me without question.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. 12.0%. Bottled June 08 2010. Bottle no. 21. Pours almost black. No head. Dusty, sweetish aroma. Dark fruits, malt. Hints of vanilla and wood as it warms. Flavour is sweetish and roasted with notes of coffee and dark fruits. Finish is almost sugary, with dark fruits, cold coffee and a hint of tobacco smoke. Has an alcohol burn, but not matching the high %; well-balanced. Overall good; flavour is better than aroma. Would have been nice with a head. 15.12.13.

Sample at Hel en Verdoemenis tasting
Tasted a fresh one from 2013 and an aged one from 2009. Iíll use the fresh one for the ratings score. Aroma is bourbon, after eight, vanilla and wood. Taste also has some roasted malts and coffee. Medium dry. Full body, nice soft carbonation.
The aged version is very portlike and very smooth, great beer for aging!

330 ml bottle, bottled Jan 28 2013. Dark pour with minimal head. Carbonation on the low side. Aroma of ashes, chocolate, coffee, booze. Ok. Tastes quite a bit better, boozy chocolate, smooth. Long finish. Great beer.

Not the best de molen IRS I had but still very good. Choclate and espresso dominate in the flavor and the bourbon is very much present.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle sample from notes (Jackie oís tasting). Pours a very dark brown to black with a small tan head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, dark chocolate, char, whiskey notes, wood, and some dark fruit. Boozy at times, but this was solid.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Beer #900 on RB. Bottled Jan 2013 at 11%. Black, some white bubbles but no real head. Smell - initially plastic, crayon, marmite, bourbon, wet paint. Settles down over time. Body is medium, slight carbonation, slightly foamy in the mouth. Taste - smooth chocolate, marmite, leather, bourbon, quite a lot of tannins and itís drying. There is also an alcoholic sharpness to it. Bit heavy on the stomach but some air improves it. Starts tasting like flat pepsi after a while. Overall, it was slightly disappointing but a decent beer. Needs a few years in the bottle I think.

This one poured a darker brown with a beige head. Aroma was of smoke, light oak and chocolate. Flavor was caramel, chocolate, small and small barrel notes. OK but not outstanding.
