4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle 33 cl. Pours pitch black with a small and fading tan head and a thick sweet aroma of milk-chocolate, earth, caramel, oak and sweet salmiac. The initial taste is not too special, very sweet with notes of brown sugar, dark chocolate and liquor. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy, like drinking melted chocolate. The finish is better than anything, a great bitter hopbitterness that stays in your mouth forever.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20
Everything from the "regular version" (cold espresso toffee, chocolate, mocha. Intensity) plus extra and too much sweetness. Sipping beer. Enjoy with caution.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, whisky, vanilla, chocolate, and coffee – with a bitter and boozy finish.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample at Hel en Verdoemenis tasting
Tasted this next to the Emelisse Imperial Stout Wild Turkey B.A. The one from the Molen proofed to be a lot tastier and more aromatic. Less peat, but more bourbon hints.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
33cl bottle. Black with almost no head.
NOSE : strong aromas of bourbon barrel, black chocolate brownie, booze, dried raisins, figs and plums, toffee, brownie, smoke, charred wood. Very complex aromas overall.
SIP : oily and thick with almost no carbonation. The beer is strongly aromatic and it pierces through every sip. It is quite sweet, almost like some of the Belgian quads. Burned malt notes are delicately sour and the finish gets a more clear dry like coffee and black chocolate aftertaste. There is this burning feeling starting on the tongue and warms in the throat. I had to stop breathing to get that since the aromas are striking so hard it is difficult to focus.
OVERALL : really delicious and what a great aroma. This is one of those beers that drunk at the right moment will provide you with one of those best moment in your life. Moments you will remember forever.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft at GBD in Washington. 2013 vintage. Poured a near pitch black, mostly flat head with perhaps a small wisp off off-white on top. Aroma was borubon, whiskey, oak, vanilla. Burnt, bitter coffee and chocolate is prevalent. Actually quite easy to drink for 11%. Nice and warming. Delicious.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Vintage 2013, 11% abv. A black beer with a brown, medium and dense head. The nose is powerfull, roastiness, liquirice, coffee, strawberries, hint of alcohol and vanilla. Complex and pleasant aroma. Taste is rich of malts, smooth, roastiness, salt liquirice, quite much of sweetness, some barrel. After beginning also nice vanilla and some berries, roasted coffee in the long end. Full bodied, but not too heavy, very smooth and even velvety to drink. Absolutely great beer, complex, balanced, smooth... pure enjoyment.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ Armin’s palace, courtesy of arminjewell. Pours a dark brown/black appearance with a tiny head. Somewhat herbal, peaty, whiskey, coffee aroma. Flat carbonation. Pretty spicy, dark chocolate, coffee, a touch fruity, swampy flavor. Pretty good but not as good as some of their releases.
