4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
almost black colour, 3-4 cm long lasting creamy brown head; aroma of coffee, chocolate, roastedness, some cognac and alcohol; taste is the same: roasted coffeebeans and sugar, chocolate, and cognac; sweet and bitter simultaneously with an excellent ballance; perfect imperial stout, I would score it as 5.0 if I liked stouts :-) it is quite surprising that it has only 4.13 at the time of tasting...maybe nobody likes sotuts?... :-))

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a beautiful pitch black body, with an average dark brown head that diminishes pretty quickly, leaving a good lace. Amazing aroma of vanilla, coffee, and also, bourbon is very noticeable. Taste is too strong for me, though. At the start, there are notes of chocolate and coffee, but as the beer warms up, bourbon just dominates everything, leaving a very boozy finish. Average carbonation, full-bodied, smooth texture. A very good beer, but maybe I wanted a little more balance in the taste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very dark brown color. Huge milk chocolate, caramel and bourbon nose. Very intense. Big boozy, tons of bourbon, big milk chocolate, caramel. Very hot. The complexity is diminished due to the booziness. Still fun, but not burning.

11.2oz bottle, thanks to chuckaduck. Bottled 28/01/13. Labeled 10%. Shared with caterwaul. Dark brown, near-black color. Thin light brown head. Really good splotches of lace. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Bigger body, but not as chewy as most imperial stouts. Lighter carbonation. Lightly sticky in the finish. Nice roasted coffee, some charcoal, dark bitter chocolate. Distinctly different from the base beer, from what I remember. A lot of brownie, and good vanilla note works well with the already awesome, complex flavors of the base. Hint of woody spiciness. Good long coffee, dark chocolate, lightly spicy aftertaste, with some more vanilla. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, moderate bitter, some spice and light warmth in the finish. Delicious stuff. Awesome, big bourbon barrel aftertaste, but not over the top. Very good, complex bourbon barrel aged imperial stout. An improvement, or at least an augmentation on the original, I’d say.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Dark tan head that’s thin, jet black body. Lots of nice bourbon, dark chocolate, and slight oak in the aroma. Flavor is nicely balanced with rich dark chocolate and roast, and the barrel is there but subdued, smooth and warming. Velvety body that’s viscous but not too thick. Nice

330 ml bottle at home - 2013 batch. Also had it on draft during the BBF2013. Pours pitch black. Small beige lingering head. A full intensive nose of dark chocolate, brownies, vanilla, cinnamon, oak and plums. Medium body, high on the alcohol esters, taste is liquorice and soy sauce. Finish is chocolate bitter and some blueberry fruitiness...
