4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at Borefts Beer Festival 2014. Pours black with a brown, oily 4-head. Impressive to keep that much head after freeze distillation. Aroma has licorice, sweet alcohol, roast, port wine, dates, figs, prunes and chocolate. Taste has looots of sweet, soft licorice, port wine, licor, brown sugar, cinnamon and toasted caramel malts. A sweet fella, but the 18% abv (it said 20 on the festival tho) is very well hidden!. Full body and low carbonation.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
tap @ Borefts 2014.
Pour murky dark brown, with a small tan creamy head. Aroma is pretty sick of licorice, plenty of caramel, vanilla, bitter coffee beans.
The taste is pretty darn sweet up front, but has a lot of bitterness to it as well. A small kick of alcohol in the back of the throat.
Oily and semi thick body, with a pretty flat carb.
Pretty good, pretty extreme!!

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draft at Borefts 2014. Pours a very dark brown with a tiny yellow head and an aroma of cacao, roasted malts, vanilla, espresso, whiskey, toffee and porto. The taste is heavily sweet, but with lots of complexity, some alcohol, but not boozy like you would expect from a 20% beer. Some bitterness in the finish. This is a fantastic beer, one of the winners of the festival for me!
