Nov 8, 2009 Bottle@Home. Aroma of coffee, black berries, tobacco and peat. Black colour, light brown head, good lace. Sweet, very bitter, black berries, coffee, loads of roasted malts, peat, tobacco. Full and surprisingly sparkling.. Powerful, flavourful and not over the edge with the smoke.

Oct 27, 2009 33cl #591. Black, tiny fading tanned head. Nose is salted ham, little smokiness, licorice, ashiness, not very sweet. Flavor is sweet salmiak, minty herbal notes, burned malts & loads of molasses, some islay smoke, salt, slightly thin and very coarse finish with coal and wood chips. Alcohol shows when warmer. Not too thick mouthfeel. Tastes like a messy De Molen.

Oct 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty smoky chocoalte aroma with some hints of licorice. Roasted malty smoke chocolate and licorice flavor. Has a roasted malty smoky finish with hints of chocolate and licorice in the aftertaste.

Oct 11, 2009 75o ml bottle. An opaque black beer with a small and disappearing brown head. The aroma is very malty with notes of roasted grains, smoke (much smoke), chocolate and some berries. Powerful and intense. The flavour is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Almost a burnt note and again very smokey. Medium to full body, lively carbonation, long finish with medium to high bitterness. Surely a good beer.

Wonderfull roasted, oily, liqourice, tar and the works.
Henrik thinks it tastes like eating cigarettes.
Much to smokey for my taste, but I acknowledge the effort, and still I enjoy this wonderfull beer.

Oct 4, 2009 Updated: Oct 5, 2009Thanks to joes for this bottle, I really liked this beer. The smokey/peaty aroma hits you right away and is followed by a nice roasty, coffee, hoppy flavor. Delicious.
