4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
The 33cl bottle, with 11% ABV + bottle on date of Jan. 30th 2013 listed on the label, pours with a nice dark body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma is full with dark roasted malts, burnt malts, some chocolate, some peat and then mild bourbon booze. The taste is similar with pleasing smoothness and richness with roasted malts, dark roasted malts, some burnt malts flowing into yummy chocolate and modest peaty notes. Thereís a perfect amount of malt sweetness and smooth mild bourbon sweetness to tie this thing together. This just has the right amount of everything: chocolate, dark roasted malts, peat, sweetness and bourbon. Nice!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, 33cl. A clear-looking next to black beer with a small, dark beige head. The aroma has roasted malt, some peat and licorice. Bourbon notes. Some dark chocolate and coffee. The flavor is roasted and peaty, with bourbon, coffee grit and some dark dried fruits. Quite boozy on the palate, warming and more or less full-bodied. Low carbonation level. Caramel, peaty, bourbon and roasted malts in the finish. Well, not superb in my book, but itís drinkable. In small amounts. 140808

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to Tom. Black pour with thick lacy tan foam. Aroma of bourbon (pickles), coffee and burnt toast, smoke is definitely still there but much less so than in the non Ba versions. Taste is a bit smokier, strong bourbon flavors, light coffee roastiness, woody, boozy finish. Palate is full bodied, not too slick, good carbonation. Good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (330 ml). Bottled on January 30th 2013. Black with a small ring of beige foam and little to no lacing. Aroma is of bourbon, dills, peat (a lot less than the regular or Wild Turkey version), roasted notes and chocolate. Taste is also dominated by bourbon, but thereís also roasted malt, chocolate and a lingering peated/smoked finish. Full bodied. Moderate carbonation. Itís quite different than the base beer. It as also unbalanced, but this time itís not because of the heavy peat (even if itís still there), but because of the huge bourbon presence. Itís still a decent/good RIS.
