Thanks to blake for the share. Inky black pour, small brown head. Another in a long line of lackluster stouts from these guys. Bourbon shows, so does some plastic, iodine, charcoal, ash...better than most in this series, but that isn’t saying a whole lot.

Sehr dunkelbraunes, fast schwarzes Bier mit schöner bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, holzig, schokoladig, Kaffee, dunkle reife Früchte. Geschmack intensiv röstmalzig, Kaffee, Schokolade, dunkle Früchte, Bourbon.

Opaque black - brown beer, tidy tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Modest carbonation. Rich dark malt with a strong dark chocolate powder vibe. Light smoke and a whisper of TCP. Mild dark malt cream and very mild bourbon. Smooth finish. Rich and tasty.

330ml bottle @ home. From Saveur Biere.

Dark stuff with small beige foam. Aroma of barn and some salty liquorice. Intensive strong and smooth taste. Excellent beer and maybe best of De Molen so far.

Zwarte kleur, redelijke schuimkraag. Ruikt lekker, chocolade., beetje rokerig. Smaakt fantastisch, vrij zoet, redelijk bitter. Topper.

Bottle at home. Pours near black with a ring beige head. Aroma of leather, soy, rubber. Flavour is light heavy sweet and bitter. Loads more coming out in the palate - milk chocolate, roast, fudge, light peaty whiskey, leather, overripe dark fruits. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Real good.

33cl bottle. Bottled Jan30th 2013. Pitch black, brown head. Sweet bourbon aroma, vanilla, peat, licorice, all coming together nicely. Amazing aroma, I could sniff this all night. Flavor has vanilla, sweetness, licorice, and peaty notes. Peat quite strong towards finish. Incredibly smooth. Finish lasts forever with vanilla and roasted malty, coffee notes. Absolutely amazing.

Bottled, dated Jan 30th 2013, large sample. Dark color, short creamy brown head. Aroma of peat, chocolate, coffee, roast, leather, wood, hint of vanilla. Some sweetness in taste, quite bitter. Slight dry of the peat, but backed up with plenty of sweetness as well and some boozy alcohol. The bourbon itself is not that present (anymore), but it does balance out the loads of peat of the original beer. Decent balance, good beer.
