Bottle @ benzai. Pitch black colour with a lovely, amazing brownish head. Instant 5 for the appearance. Smells roasty, malts, chocolate, wood, bourbon. Lovely. Tastes bourbon, wood, lots of chocolate, roasty, almonds. Holy shitballs. Amazing. Reminds me of a cornetto icecream. Love it. Full body, silky, lovely carbo.

33cl bottle. Bottled Jan30th 2013. Pitch black, brown head. Sweet bourbon aroma, vanilla, peat, licorice, all coming together nicely. Amazing aroma, I could sniff this all night. Flavor has vanilla, sweetness, licorice, and peaty notes. Peat quite strong towards finish. Incredibly smooth. Finish lasts forever with vanilla and roasted malty, coffee notes. Absolutely amazing.

PotjeBier (1771) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 17, 2013
33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Pitch black color. Beige, light brown head. Aromas are wonderful and subtle: bourbon, sweet chocolate, oak, light smoke/peat, roasted malts, a bit alcohol. More sweet chocolate retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet, somewhat alcoholic, chocolate-y. Strong alcohol feel, warming and a bit prickly. Velvety mouthfeel. Flavor develops towards roasted malts, slightly ashy, lightly bitter. This is how I like my Molen impies!

caesar (5324) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - DEC 26, 2013
Bottled, dated Jan 30th 2013, large sample. Dark color, short creamy brown head. Aroma of peat, chocolate, coffee, roast, leather, wood, hint of vanilla. Some sweetness in taste, quite bitter. Slight dry of the peat, but backed up with plenty of sweetness as well and some boozy alcohol. The bourbon itself is not that present (anymore), but it does balance out the loads of peat of the original beer. Decent balance, good beer.
