Black appearance with small head. Vanilla and peat in the aroma, also a bit of cow staples. Taste is sweet, very sweet, with a bit of wood and peat. I think I like the regular Hemel & Aarde more. Thick and liquorice feeling. This is too sweet. Still a fine one.

Bottle from Guinn shared with Peter. He picked it upon Amsterdam and brought it home. Pours a very dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is earthy, roasty, smokey peat. And some malty caramel. Flavor follows with good smokiness and dark malt. Really nice beer. Thanks Guinn!

Bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours black with a small fizzy mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty and smokey with roasted malts, burnt caramel, pumpernickel bread, vanilla fudge, charred wood, roasted coconut, dark chocolate, peat, soot, tar, moist soil and bourbon alcohol. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter, malty, earthy and slightly smokey with roasted malts, burnt caramel, dark bread, vanilla fudge, burnt wood, roasted coconut, minerals, hay, moist soil, soot, peat, smoked charcuteries, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate and bourbon alcohol. Mouthfeel is soft, round, slightly flat, slightly viscous, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet, slightly bitter and malty with roasted malts, dark bread, caramel, vanilla, charred wood, roasted hazelnuts, soot, peat, dark roast coffee, hay, moist soil, minerals and bourbon alcohol. Solid tasty peat-driven BA Impy.

Moderate to intense roasted malts, coffee, well integrated bourbon and wood, differs with quite interesting smoked character, bit reminds me of soy. Feels bit sticky with warming finish. Interesting and highly enjoyable brew.

Keg at Mother Kelly’s Dutch Weekender. It pours a deep black color with a small brown head. Aroma is intensely sweet with notes of bourbon, wood, booze, roasted malts, coca nibs. Taste is again on the sweet side with notes of cocoa powder, coffee beans and roasted malts. Some bourbon influence again with notes of vanilla and leather. Quite thick in body with soft carbonation. Overall, a tasty treat.
