On tap@borefest 2016: Pours oily black color with foamy brown head. Aroma & flavor: intense roasted dark malt aroma and flavor, which takes on coffee, dark chocolate, hint of smoked, peat, vanilla, bourbon in the background. Body is full, texture is soft, carbonation is low.

It has the flavor of peat, but doesn’t have the biting characteristic it sometimes can have. Mild, flavorful, sweet on the lips. Beautiful. Tap at Borefts 2016

0,33l bottle at home bought at Beergium. Bottled June 11th 2014. black color, very small coffee-colored head. smells of wood, bourbon, light dark fruity, some alcohol, liqueurish, some earthy notes, coffee, a bit glueish, some marzipan, light grape notes / sour notes. overall very nice barrel notes. full body, soft carboantion, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, light bacon, some alcohol, spices, bourbon, nice wood notes, marzipan, bitter almonds, some glue. finishes rather alcoholic / glueish with notes of marzipan, wood, bourbon. overall quite good one, but still quite alcoholic (too much so), if it wasnt for the nice marzipan / wooden notes this one would get even less points. gets even more alcoholic once it starts warming up (so better drink cold).

Big impy stout, that has a lot of character. Little subdued initially but when it warmed up it began to shine. Yum - like drinking an old leathery boot!
