UPDATED: OCT 26, 2013 Bottle. Black with tan top. Oaky, vanilla, nose. Some chocolate, a bit of sweetness. Full bodiedd, sweetness with balanced bitters. Strong bourbony flavour, almost like strong porter with a shot mixed in. Gets to be a bit too much sweet boozy bourbon.

Bottle with Sir__V @ his Home. Black opaque color. No carbonization, No foam. The smell is first roasted, then the really nice barrel taste. taste: first you taste alcohol, then the malt, sugar, round taste in mouth. I notice a real light bitterness at the end palate: body is full, texture is fat, you feel it going everywhere. Nice sensation.

Bottle at home, from the De Molen shop, 23/10/13. Pours pitch black with a good sized tan head that slowly dissipates and remains as a covering. Nose carries a bourbon waft, dark chocolate, dark malts, light boozey notes, dark fruits, toffee, light spice Taste comprises, milk chocolate, mineral bite, good level of bourbon, light booze, treacle toffee/ Mouthfeel is spot on for style, full bodied, fine carbonation, smooth, light boozey heat at the drum roll - ba bam ! Top stuff - could have drank a bomber of this one - boxes ticked !

PotjeBier (1771) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 17, 2013
33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Pitch black color. Beige, light brown head. Aroma’s are wonderful and subtle: bourbon, sweet chocolate, oak, light smoke/peat, roasted malts, a bit alcohol. More sweet chocolate retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet, somewhat alcoholic, chocolate-y. Strong alcohol feel, warming and a bit prickly. Velvety mouthfeel. Flavor develops towards roasted malts, slightly ashy, lightly bitter. This is how I like my Molen impies!

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2013 A dark black beer, with a quick disapering light brown head. In the nose, there is roasted coffee malts, smoke, and a touch of the Bourbon. It is very full bodied beer, with a low carbonation. In the taste there a light smokiness, light coffee, and a strong Bourbon flavour. This continous in the aftertaste. A very good beer, a nice touch of the classic h&a. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
