Tap @ Borefts 2012. The pour’s deep brown with a small tan head. The nose is strong islay whiskey, loads of smoke. Choclate. The taste is more peat. smoke, plenty of chocolate. Burning forest. Charred malts. Full body, pretty smooth. Overall, this is just a bit too smokey for my liking.

Bottled. Pours hazy deep brown nearly black with a small tan head. Aroma of peat, roasted malt , chocolate and whiskey. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with some smoke. Medium to full bodied, oily text. and soft carb. An excellent impy.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours black with a small creamy dark mocha head that quickly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is malty and smokey with roasted malts, peat, alcohol, moist soil, burnt wood, smoke, sweet dark bread, minerals, cigar smoke, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, vanilla fudge and tar. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, malty and smokey with roasted malts, burnt caramel, peat, moist soil, alcohol, tar, dark roast coffee, leather, burnt wood, melted snow, smoke and smokey single malt whisky. Mouthfeel is round, creamy, tiny roasted tart and medium to full bodied. finish is bitter, malty and smokey with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, peat, tar, burnt caramel, bitter chocolate, moist soil, melted snow, burnt wood and smokey single malt whisky. Better than expected...

Bottle at "Darkness comes to town", 131116. Pitch black beer with a nice beige head. Smoked woody leather aroma, peat, grass, sausage, dark chocolate, tar, licorice, some ash. Smoked leather flavor, peat, caramel, minerals, ash, tar, dark chocolate. Loads of smoke and peat, almost too much.

Pitch black with a moderate tan covering that retains well.
Nose is dark malts, big peated waft, medicinal notes, TCP, treacle toffee, molasses, leather.
Taste comprises treacle toffee, full on peated whisky, dark chocolate, hint of soap, spice, dark malts, brown sugars.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, smooth on the palate, peated smokey closure.
Decent Peated whisky impy, as always the smoke/peat dominates but this one integrates all components as well as can be expected, alcohol well integrated.

Black with a beige head,
Aroma has peat, slight whiskey, coffee, roasted malt, milk chocolate, alcohol.
Taste is sweet at first, followed by peat, slight sour notes, chocolate, dark malt, some alcohol.
Medium body, low carbonation.
Dry, bitter, peaty after taste.
Hm...not as thick as the other Hemel & Aarde I’ve had. So-so.

330 ml bottle at home.- pours deep dark brown. Aroma of tar, rubber, petrol, leather... dark roast. Full body, nice sweetness, full roasty and smokey notes, slight sourness as well. Peaty taste, green paprica, aromas coming back in taste as well. Better than the borubon version. Either way, more complex.

(bottle) pours a pitch black colour with a creamy brown head. aroma of heavy black forest cake and peat smoke, vanilla, obstler-soaked cherries, char, brown sugar, dark chocolate, flan and toffee, with a light hint of smoked ham. flavour is heavier on the peat smoke and ash, though also quite sweet, with balancing notes of vanilla, brown sugar, cherries, tobbacco, caramel and some quite noticeable alcohol in the finish. medium to heavy-bodied with assertive carbonation.

Poured a deep, dark brown with a frothy, beige head. Aroma of sweet, peaty roast malt. Full body, flavour of the aroma, some vanilla smoothness, fudge in there as well, pretty well balanced.
