Color as black coffee. Smell wood and bread. Taste is surprisingly not as peaty as I expected. Bowmore and Caol Ila are real peaty whiskies but the taste is not dominated by there smokiness in this beer. Dark chocolate, coffee and notes of dark malt are also part of the taste pallet.

Dark brown with small light brown foam head. Aroma is definately dominated by whiskey. Taste is like cold Irish whiskey, bit more bitter. Aftertaste is not too intense, stragly. (Velp 201306)

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a lot of sediment and a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is peat, liquorice, iodine, and a little chocolate. Flavour is peat, liquorice, chocolate, and whisky – with a bitter finish.

Bottled shared w timfoolery. We were having a laugh about the extreme peaty flavor of this one. He was telling me the base beer was much better in the non-BA version. I’ll have to try that soon. If you like peat though, probably right up your ally.

Bottle from MrHangover. Aroma and flavor of the peatiest, peaty scotch I've ever had...called Sheep Dip. As Wes and I experienced: "it's like eating manure, in the best way possible...if that's possible." Analogous... "It tastes like the assholes of three billy goat's gruff...soaked in scotch." Like haggis? Enough said. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

BoringBard (118) - NORWAY - APR 11, 2013
Pours a dark brown liquid with a tiny offwhite head. Aroma of peated malt, whisky and toffee. Taste of whisky, peated malt but is also sour. Very light, thin and quite flat. This was definietly a disappointment.
