4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 33 cl. Pours pitch black with a small beige head and an aroma of mainly whiskey, with notes of peat, wet wood, syrup, heavy malts and thin cigar smoke. The taste is not too sweet nor too alcoholic, just a nice blend for a beer this strong. There’s heavu roasted malts, smoke, some whiskey and a nice medium-long bitter finish. I really like this.

The barrel notes are quite overwhelming.

33 cl bottle @ olio. Bottled 28.08.2012, BBE 28.02.2037
Aroma has strong, peaty and sweet whisky tones. Also licorice. Flavour has rather stinging whisky tones, sweet fruits(!) and tobacco. Also licorice, alcohol and smoke. Whisky is too dominant here.

Pours pitch black with a bubbly brown head. Aroma of strong peaty notes, roastiness, wood, oak, vanilla, ash and smoke. Taste is peaty, stingy and woody with some sticky sweetness and leathery notes. Finish is strong, boozy and peaty with some sticky sweetness, wood, ash and leather. A bit unbalanced and too strong on the peaty notes.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Nice head with medium duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are peat, tar, ashtray smoke, roast malt and chocolate. I still dont get why good beer must be destroyed by peated whisky.
