Bottle 33 cl. Pours pitch black with a small beige head and an aroma of mainly whiskey, with notes of peat, wet wood, syrup, heavy malts and thin cigar smoke. The taste is not too sweet nor too alcoholic, just a nice blend for a beer this strong. There’s heavu roasted malts, smoke, some whiskey and a nice medium-long bitter finish. I really like this.

Well this is better than some in the series, but still not a beer I would ever revisit. Pours black, tiny brown head. I get some chocolate, some charred barrel notes, some peat, smoke, bandaid. Just ok IMO.

Bottle. Black with a light brown head. Aroma: very peaty, salami, medwurst, chocolate. Taste: very peaty, used coffee grounds, strong and sweet Greek coffee, smoked meat, creamy chocolate, some licorice. Medium to full-bodied. As much as I love peaty whisky, this wasn’t completely successful. Still nice though.

Zeer donker, niet helder, beige schuim. Aroma van peat, ruikt erg lekker. Smaakt fantastisch, geroosterd, zwaar, islay/peat. Extreem goed bier. Lomp en zwaar, super.

Diep zwarte kleur met een aardige bruine kraag. Volle geur. Ruikt sterk peated, gebrand, koffie, rook, iets van stroop. Smaakt vol, peated, hout, rook, vanille. Goede alcohol smaak. Iets dikke structuur. Lekker.

Bottle with thanks to MrH. Pours opaque black with a medium brown head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is smoky, peat, roasted malts, chocolate. Flavor is quite smokey and peaty, scotch notes, roast, ashtray. Light sweet, medium bitter. Full body and creamy mouthfeel, fairly hot. This is a nice blend, one in which the scotch notes do not completely overpower the stout.

Imprescindible, imprescindible repetir.

Smell is malty and smokey with roasted malts, peat, alcohol, moist soil, burnt wood, smoke, sweet dark bread, minerals, cigar smoke, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, vanilla fudge and tar. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, malty and smokey with roasted malts, burnt caramel, peat, moist soil, alcohol, tar, dark roast coffee, leather, burnt wood, melted snow, smoke and smokey single malt whisky. Mouthfeel is round, creamy, tiny roasted tart and medium to full bodied. finish is bitter, malty and smokey with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, peat, tar, burnt caramel, bitter chocolate, moist soil, melted snow, burnt wood and smokey single malt whisky. Better than expected...
