On tap at Christian Firtal. Black with a big tan head. Aroma of smoke, fruit, oak, and fresh ground coffee beans. Dry, licorice and roast malt flavour with peat smoke, oak and boozy alcohol. More balanced than the regular version.

The bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Smoky-malty aroma, modest fruity, not too dry. Starts not too strong, smoky-malty with notes of chocolate, not as roasty as the unbarrelaged version. Finish soft and warming-malty. Great beer!

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2011 2010 Vintage – 33 cl. bottle@Delirium Hoppy Loft: bottle nr. 863/960, started out quite below the recommended temperature of 16 °C and finished around it & honestly kind of liked it a bit more, a bit to cold because the taste carried even more of a punch to it, black with a huge, amazing mocha head, the taste upfront is not as strong as the aftertaste is and comes with freshly roasted coffee, slightly roasted taste malts, oak from the barrels, slightly bitter chocolate, hint of cold chocolate milk, hint of spice & smoke, aftertaste is amazing peated malts & light smoke, hit of ash, bitter in a nice & fitting way, would have been perfect if the body were a bit thicker

18cl bottle from de molen. Black with a even sustained dense tan head. Smokey, peated chocolate malt. Light lacto, mellow whiskey notes. Creamy mouthfeel and much lighter in body than I expected. Peated smoked chocolate with earthy mellow scotch barrel notes. Balanced, smooth and tasty.

18cl bottle, #1753/1776 from DeMolen beer shop.

Dark brown coloured beer with small brownish head and very few carbonation. Smokey and malty aroma. Full creamy palate slightly sparkling. Finish is rather bitter and dry with a sweet touch. The small bottle is really facinating, the beer is also good, however not too special.
