Taste is sweet licorice, peat, chocolate, hints of grains and alcohol. Very smooth. Medium carbonation, smooth body. Excellent stuff. :-)

Pours thick and black with a very small tan head. Nose is chocolate, salted sausage, smoke and toffee. Taste is heavy bitter and smoke with light sweet and a hint of salt. The mouthfeel is super dry, sucks the moisture from the pallet. The body is medium and the finish is long.

Reddish brown colour, tan head. Aroma of liquorice root, drop, chocolate and whisky. Quite bitter flavour, chocolate and liquorice. Finish whisky, chocolate, caramel with a bitter touch.

Bottle via ba trade. Pours black with a very creamy tan head. The aroma is toasty and roasty with smoke, peat, chocolate and even coffee notes. The flavor is a nice mix of smoke, chocolate, coffee, peat, and alcohol. Although I’m usually not a big fan of this type of barrel aging, there is enough of the base beer to keep this enjoyable.

Pours almost black, no head, just thin lacing around the glass.
Aroma is smoky, a bit leathery, heavy on chocolate and roasted malt and has some alcohol as well.
Taste is also heavy on the luxorious chocolate, roasted malt that blends well in, smoke, leather, wood and at the end there is a warming whiskey sensation. Thick, velvety mouth feel. Fantastic sipper.

(bottle june 2010): Une bouteille de 180 ml qui me donne l’impression d’un format sirop pour la toux. Un nez musclé de grain fumé, mélasse, bois sec et whiskey. Damn!!! En bouche l’effervescence surprend mais fait du sens avec l’étendue des saveurs impliquées. Le chocolat au lait et la fumée forme un drôle de mélange au début mais après une gorgée le reste se manifeste, café, figues fraiches, pain brûlé, tabac. Le corps est ce qui impressionne le plus, il tapisse et colle mais avec le pétillement vigoureux, tout est à recommencer à chaque fois. Aussi impressionnant que hors track.
