COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made with the most heavily peated malt in the world from the Bruichladdich distillery. Almost pitch black and opaque, small head. Furiously peated aroma, hiding the malt, licorice and dark chocolate somewhat. Very full bodied, thick mouthfeel, like fluid bread. Dark chocolate, loads of peat, lapsang souchong tea, chocolate cake, culminating in an almost endless aftertaste that also has licorice.
Alcohol varies by batch.

Bottle 33cl. Deep black with a tiny off white head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee and malt. The taste is a frenzy of chocolate, coffee, sugar and leaves a very pleasant bitterness combined with a glow of alcohol.

L: -pours the darkest of brown with no light coming through and a small to medium, creamy, khaki, head S: -smoked bacon, chocolate, nutty, molasses, phenolic T: The Peated malt really takes over here -peat ,bacon, ash, medicinal, heavy burned plastic note, toasty finish F: -low carbonation -medium to full body -boozy O: De Molen mentions "Bruichladdich" malt on the label,so it was probably for their "Octomore" smoke monsters.I enjoy peated Scotch, but the burned plastic taste is just too prominent here and makes it hard to drink.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2015 33cl bottle, served in snifter glass. Poured a pitch black with practically no head. Aromas of smoke and chocolate protrude your nostrils at first. Later also some dark fruits, caramel, coffee. Smells awesome! Flavors of again loads of peated malt & dark chocolate, very bready and hints of caramel, coffee & dark fruits. Thick, gloopy taste in the mouth, full body and a creamy long chocolate-smoky finish. Overall a great Imperial Stout and enjoyed every sip of it! Bury me in smoke, please...

Drank a 2014 bottle with Kaspar at my place 23-12-2015. Good smoked stout. Very smoky smell, but the taste is more balanced. Pretty complex, rich and sweet. Good.

Pours dark brown with a small head. Nose shows heavy peat, chocolate, soft roast and caramel. Flavours include more peat, roasted malt and soft caramel.

Wysycenie niskie, alkohol perfekcyjnie ukryty, nawet rozgrzewanie w przełyku niewielkie.

5 oz glass from tap @ Arendsnest. Not the first time I’ve had this, but the previous was years ago. Almost blac color, not quite opaque. Dense beige head with good retention and lacing. Aroma’s: leather, smoke. Even more smoke retronasal, and additionally some sweetness and light fruit. Flavor is moderate to full sweet, chocolate, smoke. Alcoholfeel is quite mild for the 10%. Rather full bodied. Finishes with lots of smoke and leather, and some roast. Not very subtle, but I quite like this.
