3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 TrefwoordPunk (661) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - JUN 4, 2009
Corked bottle 75 cl. Pours a pitch black with a small, but everlasting head and an aroma of ripe cherries, roasted malts, espresso, liquor and hops. The taste is very high on peat and roasted malts, with some fruits (both ripe and unripe), liquorice, bitter hops, strong coffee, tobacco and molasse. A nice finish, lots of liquorice and bitter hops. A great brew!

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 patrick767 (2836) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - MAY 29, 2009
bottle from Arendsnest in Amsterdam - I jotted down all the information I could find on the bottle. Bottle 80/240. Brewed Oct 17, 2008. Bottle Nov 20, 2008. 96 EBUs. Bittering hops - Nugget. Aroma hops - Amarillo. I guess I needed something to do. Now for the rating - Pours black with a one finger lingering tan head. It has a rich aroma of smoky peat and dark roast malt. The taste is huge with big smoked peat flavors and an explosion of dark roast malt with notes of coffee and chocolate. That’s all balanced out by a big dose of hops that leaves bitterness to linger on the tongue along with clinging roast malt and smoke. It’s a very full bodied brew and it’s absolutely fantastic, one of the best beers I’ve ever had. Disclosure: I love imperial stouts and I love peat rich scotch.
