Dark and oily beer. Thick body of chocolate, coffee, dark malt and bread. Like they used all the malts they could get. Tastes rich and complex. Good beer.

Pours a pitch black with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, plum, licorice, hops. There is a welcome element of smoke to this brew. For a 10% ABV the flavour is only slightly boozy. Fantastic Stout by one of the two best Dutch breweries.

Bottle share taster. Dark brown with ruby highlights, and BIG foamy cap (that dissipates). Aroma of chocolate, smoke, wood, plum. Taste is a shmack of sweet, chased with a robust bitterness.

pours black under a kilometer big brown foam. i give respect to the metal cap, to keep this much power in balance for the time it took for me to open the bottle
smells oaty, burnt malts . bit zhiskey in the back, wouldnt say peated though
taste has some peat, unfortunatly, but no overkill. sweet, bit smokey . doable .

33 cl. Bottle sampled thx! to Kraddel. Bottled on 27/01/2011. Complete and utter gushes & smells infected even from a distance. Dark brown with a very big, collapsing mocha head. Nose is very vinous coffee grounds, ashes, mocha & vinegar. Tastes of soy sauces, ashes, coffee grounds with less wine vinegar than expected, very heavy on soy sauce and faint herbs. Carb. is very high in the way that is typical for an infected beer, it is not as bad as I thought that it would be upon opening. Still an infected mess more or less.

At first sight black body, but it’s some sort of muddy dark brown color. Head is minimal, disappears quickly. At the beginning aroma is malty and smoky, but after warming up it reveals roasty and heavily chocolate base. Pleasant warming taste. It’s very delicate. Starts with smoked and roasted notes and goes to bitter chocolate and cocoa. Bitterness is moderate but long lasting. Gives great aftertaste. Great beer.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Kvadrat.Pours black with a small creamy tanned head. Aroma of peated malts, coffee, soy sauce and dark bitter chocolate. Thick, sticky and oily mouthfeel.Taste is much of the same as suggested in the aroma, but the peaty malt is well integrated, in a light sweet malty taste bomb, coffee and mocha, lingering bitter liquorice, traces of smoke in the finish, me like, a lot.

Color caoba oscuro con espuma beige. Aromas tostados y ahumados, romero y regaliz. En boca tiene un inicio dulce y tostado que pasa a los ahumados intensos y agradables. Muy rica.

I love bruichladdich whisky and love this smoked imperial stout with bruichladdich malt.
Very intense smoked aroma with dry fruits and chocolate.
Full body, well bitter.
