4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
18cl bottle poured into my Darkness tulip...Black pour with nice tan head that comes right away leaving a solid cap. Spotty but nice lacing...Really strong aroma, peat moss, muted smoke(no pork notes), light coffee. Flavors in the same vein, hurting balance but still pretty good...Taste lots of peat, roasted coffee, bitter, a little alcohol, finish is warm...Feel is very warm, long aftertaste that is a little harsh.

Aroma: Toasty. Closed. Fruity.
Mouthfeel: Soft, creamy, medium-to-full.

Overall a very drinkable, exceptionally well balanced and whiskyish beer.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: MAY 8, 2013 Woow... huge smoke scent, which comes back in the mouth and the aftertaste... Incredible power and taste! Very special indeed!
------ this. Had to... 2010 vintage, tasted 08/05/2013 in a beer tasting glass - cellar temperature, still a huge head (beige). Pours almost black. Aroma is chocolate and brownie, honey, motor oil & petroleum... Oh my god. palate is quite perfect: sweet in the beginning, slight sourness, bitterness kicks in as from the middle and ends with nice smokey notes. Taste is chocolate, chocolate, chocolate in its purest form. And some non-anice "drop"/liquorice in the end. Marvelous beer!
