COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Stout – 10,2% vol. Twice the amount of dark roasted malts used, massive Imperial stout. This is a mad one. Black brown colour with a thick and creamy tan head that can be added to as you wish if you give the bottle a swirl. Give this beer time to breathe and blossom into something truly stunning. Chocolate and alcohol are right there at the front but do not at all overpower the gorgeousness that is underneath. Full of leather, vanilla, amazing wooden notes, beautifully floral character from the hops, thick Belgian chocolate, much character. The flavour of crazy wooden tartness. An extremely bitter finish seems to come out of nowhere and is what really makes this quite unique. Superb width in the mouth and coats the whole palate beautifully. Alcohol 12% in latere versies

Bottle from De Bierkoning.

Not a surprise, I find this beer delicious in every way. Excellent look with a large creamy tan head and near pitch black body. Strong flavor intensity and complexity from start to finish. Coating mouth feel. Nose is strong and fairly complex. An incredibly great beer. Quite stunning. De Molen’s beers are one of a kind. The best stout brewer on earth.

Bottle - Bittersweet chocolate and some molasses. Jet black with a decent brown head. Dark roast, rich woody notes, fruity dark notes as well. Complex and very nice. No sign of the booze.

Czarne, nieprzejrzyste z beżową pianą. W aromacie uderzenie ciemnych słodów, gorzka czekolada, kawa. Smak - to samo, głownie czekolada i kawa, lekka wanilia. Dużo słodyczy, trochę kwaskowości i to wszystko skontrowane goryczką od słodów palonych. Alkohol niewyczuwalny, jedynie lekko rozgrzewający.

Bottle split at Scopesters on melt day, thanks to Daniel, 01/07/15. Light black with a decent tan swirl. Nose is spice, dark fruits, coffee, toffee, charr. Taste comprises spice, caramel, light charring, dark fruit rinds, toffee fudge, cocoa powder, earthy tones. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a lick of booze. Ok impy.

Very dark brown, nearly black color with beautiful head, nice laceing. Aroma full of caramel, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, home made cherry liqour and some grapefruit in background. Taste: bitter and sweet, coffee, caramel, hazelnuts and big boom of chocolate bitterness from roasted malt. Soft carbonation, full body and oily texture. Great beer for special occasion

Scopey (9024) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 12, 2015
Bottle big thanks to Daniel. It pours dark brown with minimal head. The nose is rich, sweet, fudge, vanilla, wood, leather, toffee, light spice, umami and a dash of Worchestershire sauce. The taste is rich, oily, dark roast, salted liquorice, charred wood, tar, umami, toffee, bourbon, some alcohol warmth, vanilla and salty caramels with a slick, dry finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Solid imperial stout, but doesn’t quite match up to some of their other stuff.

Bottle share in Croydon. Bottled Aug 2013 at 12%. Black, small bubbly brown head. Aroma is seeded bread, coffee, roast malts. Body is medium, smooth, not much in the way of carbonation. Taste is bready, light coffee, finishes astringent and a little bitter with some salt and ash. Nice.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Daniel. Pours clear black-brown with a frothy tan head. The nose has some burnt cereal, cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with bitter scorched earth, oily cocoa, some dried fruits. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with more earthy bitterness, burnt wood, baking cocoa. Not bad.

Bottle @ Croydonia. Deep brown with a tight tan head. Nose of meaty coffee ad cocoa. Pretty muscular. Oily chocolate shake. Similar flavour. Moderate hoppy bitterness and charred grain. Earth. Forest fire. Motor oil thickness. Boost juice indeed.
