COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Stout – 10,2% vol. Twice the amount of dark roasted malts used, massive Imperial stout. This is a mad one. Black brown colour with a thick and creamy tan head that can be added to as you wish if you give the bottle a swirl. Give this beer time to breathe and blossom into something truly stunning. Chocolate and alcohol are right there at the front but do not at all overpower the gorgeousness that is underneath. Full of leather, vanilla, amazing wooden notes, beautifully floral character from the hops, thick Belgian chocolate, much character. The flavour of crazy wooden tartness. An extremely bitter finish seems to come out of nowhere and is what really makes this quite unique. Superb width in the mouth and coats the whole palate beautifully. Alcohol 12% in latere versies

Appearance: pours a very dark, nearly opaque, with a nice reddish-brown foamy cap that unfortunately quickly dissipates Aroma has prunes, malts, and a little orange. Mouthfeel: this drinks like a classic milk stout. The body is incredibly creamy – beautiful. Flavour: is again lots of prunes, with a chocolatey/coffee malt layer underneath, and a hint of orange peel at the end. I was pleasantly surprised to find hardly any toasty notes here. Drinkability: this could be a beer you’d love one glass after another. It could be, if there wasn’t the 10.2% alcohol in it. It’s such a sweet, creamy, tasty, drinkable beer.

Bottle with expiration 01.08.2013. Pours pitch black without head. Syrupy texture. Beer stuck to the side of glass when moved. Aroma is dark fruits, leather, huge notes of coffee and some chocolate also a bit whisky-ish. Taste is mostly same as aroma - roasty, coffee with hints of alcohol and dark fruits. Low carbonation. Really good beer.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2014 Pitch black, brown bubbles (no real head). Aroma is big on coffee, dark chocolate and leather bitterness, some hops, vanilla, raisins, bourbon boozy and smoke(d meat). Taste has these same tones: complex, big big flavours but for experienced beer geeks only! Tard and dry aftertaste. Very low carbonation, soft mouthfeel, good but a bit too light body.

Weinig schuim en blijft kort staan. Geur hetzelfde als de hemel & aarde. Minder komlex. Smaak ook meer chocolade. Een simple versie van de hemel en aarde. Ik vind deze variant beter omdat ik beter proeven kan wat ik drink

Bottle at home from Discount Supermarket, Cardiff. Pours black and thick. No head to speak of, a slick texture. Aromas of coffee, leather, chocolate, liquorice, alcohol. Taste is medium caramel sweet, medium espresso bitterness into the finish. Lovely aromatic coffee finish. Slick mouthfeel, medium-heavy body. Really nice.

Bottle. A huge beer - syrupy thick, heavy booze, chocolate and an unrelenting bitter coffee finish. Delicious.

Mooie zwarte kleur met een kleine, maar mooie bijna gouden kraag. Ruikt vol, chocolade, vanille, crème, gebrande mouten. Smaakt vol, koffie, chocolade, vanille. Beetje crème. Iets bitter. Goede zware afdronk.

Beese (1783) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 30, 2014
Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Poured a thick black, with a dense tan head. Really syrupy beer; stuck to the side of the glass when swirled. Huge, rich aroma of dark fruit, spice, leather, port and Islay whisky. Full mouth feel, really smooth. Smokey flavours, with complex molasses, treacle and roasted malt. Finish was burnt malt, black syrup, prunes and liquorice. For my tastes, beer doesn’t get much better than this.

Bottle at home, 23rd May 14, pours black, just bubbles for head. Aroma, liquorice, chocolate, leather. Taste full on salty liquorice, some tartness, chocolate and leather, low carbonation, easy drinking, hops and bitterness balance the sweet. Another great impy from De Molen
