COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Stout – 10,2% vol. Twice the amount of dark roasted malts used, massive Imperial stout. This is a mad one. Black brown colour with a thick and creamy tan head that can be added to as you wish if you give the bottle a swirl. Give this beer time to breathe and blossom into something truly stunning. Chocolate and alcohol are right there at the front but do not at all overpower the gorgeousness that is underneath. Full of leather, vanilla, amazing wooden notes, beautifully floral character from the hops, thick Belgian chocolate, much character. The flavour of crazy wooden tartness. An extremely bitter finish seems to come out of nowhere and is what really makes this quite unique. Superb width in the mouth and coats the whole palate beautifully. Alcohol 12% in latere versies

Appearance: pours a very dark, nearly opaque, with a nice reddish-brown foamy cap that unfortunately quickly dissipates Aroma has prunes, malts, and a little orange. Mouthfeel: this drinks like a classic milk stout. The body is incredibly creamy – beautiful. Flavour: is again lots of prunes, with a chocolatey/coffee malt layer underneath, and a hint of orange peel at the end. I was pleasantly surprised to find hardly any toasty notes here. Drinkability: this could be a beer you’d love one glass after another. It could be, if there wasn’t the 10.2% alcohol in it. It’s such a sweet, creamy, tasty, drinkable beer.

Pitch black color, thin brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, smoke. Taste is the same plus coffee and notes of hops. Medium sweet taste, light bitterness. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Very nice, but also without any surprises to blow you away.

From tap at Brasserie 4:20, Rome, v2010. Pitch black color with dark beige head. Roasted malty aroma, coffee and chocolate, light wood and vanilla. Sweet biter taste like the aroma with the addition of dark fruits. Medium to full body, oily, average carbonation.

33 cl bottle.
Pours jet black color with a medium sized beige head. Dark roasted malts on the nose, dark chocolate, faint wooden notes, distant vanilla and mild coffee. Very thick and creamy palate, lots of dry chocolate and moderately bitter and roasty malts, subtle vanilla notes and cocoa on the lingering bitter finish. Very complex yet enjoyable slow sipper. Excellent.

[9/27/14] Bottle sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2014 in Bodegraven. Black. Great aroma of dark chocolate and some liqueur. Sweet flavor, slightly acidic, with chocolate, some coffee, a liqueur note and a slightly drier and more roasty finish. Full-bodied. Great.

Pours thick dark not quite murky with a bright beige smaller head. The aroma is nice - brings some molasses, soft booze, vanilla, toffee, and caramel. The flavor brings big sweet chocolate, spicy smooth vanilla, and the booze has truly settled to smooth out on the palate. The body is creamy, big but subtle!
