Bottle from De Molen Online Shop. Dark plum body with medium, tan head. Nose is hoppy with dark fruit notes and molasses and caramel. Taste is also quite hoppy up front, then roasty malts, caramel, cactus pine, citrus. Nice creamy texture. Nice one.

Bottle at Chriso Easter "Flags of many nations" Tasting, 31/03/13 big thanks to Jan for this one. Light black with a good sized tan head that retains well. Nose is pine, juicy fresh hops, grapefruit, light roast malt, hint of chocolate. Taste comprises juicy hope, earthy tones, mineral notes, tropical fruits, sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness in the finish. Tasty tasty tasty - best beer of the tasting a mighty fine cascadian dark.

Tasting at ChrisO’s. Opaque dark brown beer with a tidy pale tan head. Smooth dark malt with a little dark chocolate and coffee. Nice light hops - good pine and floral notes with lesser citrus. Light semi dry finish. Effortless quality from Menno. Head and shoulders over anything else I tasted today.

Gedronken met dutchdrebus, zwart, bruine grote schuimkraag, ruikt hoppig en fris, denneboom, smaakt hoppig, bitter en een beetje zoet.

Bottle @ home shared with girlfriend. Pitch black with a huge light brown head. Smells lovely fresh and hoppy.. Grapefruit, peach, grassy.. Amazing smell. Tastes like a black IPA should taste: lovely IPA hoppyness, with the roastyness, liquorice and chocolate of a great stout. Full body, lovely carbo to make the beer even more refreshing. Great beer.

Corked bottle. Deep dark brown color. Roast, licorice and caramel. Milk chocolate and ripe tropical fruit in the aroma. Roasty, oily hopbitter flavor. Grassy, almost medecinal. Coffee, melon and citrus. Many aromas and flavors, but somehow they are not connected and don’t integrate.

Draft at De Molen. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of grass, leather, licorice and roasted malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Draught: Small to medium sized brown head on top of a black colored beer. Smell hops, leather, flowers, meat, roasted barley malts, gom and yeast. Taste liquorice, liquorice bitter, malts, hops, nuts, chalk, roasted barley malts, floral, herbs, yeast and bitters. Aftertaste is bitter with malts, hops, herbs, liquorice and wood. Low carbo, soft smooth mouthfeel, medium to lighty fuller body and a light watery light creamy texture. With some other ingredients (like the liquorice bitter snd chalk) and that as an approach of the regular BIPA, it makes it a fine BIPA.
