Disclaimer: I have a high tolerance of spicy food Very dark beer, brown head, on tap in the Molen Bar. Aroma is great, chocolate, coffee, smoke and chili go together very well. The taste is strong enough to survive the spiciness, and is well balanced. The mouthfeel is great, and the burning pepper forces you to drink this slowly, very slowly. I have never had or heard of anything like this, and I think it is simply amazing. Judging by other comments, the chili may be too much for some, but if you can stand it, do give it a try.

Bottle from Guinn, shared with Peter. Guinn picked it up in Amsterdam and brought it home. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is malty and roasty, with a good bit of cocoa. flavor follows with a nice chili burn - but is not uncomfortable. Pepper. More chocolate. Really nice beer.

Bottle @ Studenterhuset, Ĺrhus. Pours black with a light brown head, lacings. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, wood, dark chocolate, light smoked meat. Flavor is sweet at first, malty, caramel, dark chocolate, wood, light smoke, sausages, green chillies. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, finishes quite hot from the chillies and some alcohol. 251014

330 ml bottle. 11%. Bottled on Sep 16th 2013. From bierkompass.de.
Black colour with a small tan head. Vanilla, sweetness, mild berries, mild sourness and roasted malt in the aroma. The flavour is bitterness, roasted malt, ashy dryness, burning chili, pepper, chocolate and vanilla sweetness. Rather nice. Rich. Just right amount of chili spiciness. The Carolina Reaper chili sausages I ate last night are waking up in the stomach.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2014 Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, chili peppers, a touch of smoked. Flavour is roasty, vanilla, with a long spicy peppery aftertaste. One might expect dynamite from this brew, but it’s actually remarkably subtle and complex. I can’t believe people are saying this has too much chili (but maybe it’s just that I’ve become accustomed to extremely spicy food).

Bottled at 11%, Sep 2013. Black, small foamy brown head. Aroma - molasses, roasted barley, oil, chili, whisky. Body is medium, pretty foamy. Taste is roasted barley, coffee, ash, decent chili hit. Nice flavour, but it’s a little sharp and foamy for me. Would possibly benefit from an extra year in the bottle.
