Black with a lasting tan head. Aroma of licorice with green pepper/vegetables. Licorice and pepper flavour, with burning hot spice killing tastebuds. It’s a love it AND hate it beer...

had this at GBBF 2011. Black colour. Aroma of chocolate, dark malts. Taste of chilli, too much chilli, not balanced at all, did not finish.

Nightfall (1263) - Hamburg, GERMANY - DEC 19, 2011
Draught @ Olfestival 2011 Kobenhavn. Dark brown almost black with a deep brown, dense head which quickly disappears. Spicy malty aroma. The flavor is sweet and roasted malty and the chilli hits you at the end, and it is quite strong. Very unique and interesting, but thank god it was the last beer of the day otherwise I would have had a big trouble judging the beers that followed :D

cask at gbbf ... deepest black ... thin lacing ...deep chocolate ... dark malt nose ... wow wonderfully rich chilli kick in amongst the ich dark silky chocolate malts ... smooth deep complex and f...in hot. great balance of chilli and roast 4.1

hot and spicy II at Demolen Fest 2011 ... Man this was Spicy. I had tried the Hot and Spicy I at GBBF, i though while pretty hot any hotter would have been a mistake. I think though i REALLY need a 2nd taste (if Meno wants to send me a bottle :-} ) to be sure that the II is better. At first taste your head explodes, your mouth catches fire and your teeth melt. But once that happens, you get the deep solid roast malts, the big chocolate, and the chilli pepper. Despite the WOW front it settles down into a well balanced if spicy beer. ... deep black ... thin tan lacing ... deep chocolate roast nose ... big spicy front .. huge malt ... big big roast ... spicy spicy spicy. 4.3

Draft. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of spices, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of chilis, roasted malt, and other spices, leading to a dry spicy finish. A bit too much chili for my liking.

On tap @ Copenhagen festival 2011. The aroma has chocolate, coffee, roast and pepper. Dark brown-black coloured beer with a beige head. The taste is a bit sweet, moderate bitter and very hot. There is roast and chocolate. well there is a lot of pepper, but somehow it is still relative balanced and smooth. Dry and burning mouthfeel.

Pour at the BBF 2011 courtesy of the DeMolen crew - Thanks! It was hot. Really hot, but not until after you take a big sip...

Disclaimer: I have a high tolerance of spicy food Very dark beer, brown head, on tap in the Molen Bar. Aroma is great, chocolate, coffee, smoke and chili go together very well. The taste is strong enough to survive the spiciness, and is well balanced. The mouthfeel is great, and the burning pepper forces you to drink this slowly, very slowly. I have never had or heard of anything like this, and I think it is simply amazing. Judging by other comments, the chili may be too much for some, but if you can stand it, do give it a try.
